About the job

Trading Services is looking for a highly motivated and ambitious student analyst. As our new analyst, you will engage and work alongside highly experienced Saxo professionals. You will assist in handing real time market risk as well as the technical risks associated with a state-of-the-art fin-tech company. Real time risk management includes stop out handling, execution & platform related queries & disputes, assessment of technical abnormalities associated with trading and providing knowledge for client facing stakeholders. Therefore, you must enjoy working in a dynamic environment, have a flair for and interest in numbers and how IT systems and our platforms work.

Apart from real time risk management you are expected to engage in the development and maintenance of risk models, IT features and business procedures as we continuously improve and adapt to a fast-paced environment. The Saxo spirit encourages creative thinking and high level of individual initiative. A great deal of our work is to prepare for events that have a significant impact on the market. You will also develop and maintain various reports using VBA, SQL, Python and Power BI, which provides the organisation with important information for the daily operation and improves the client experience. The team works closely and alongside various stakeholders, especially Counterparty Credit Risk Management, IT Business Support, IT Development, Legal/Compliance, Middle Office, trading- and client facing teams so excellent communication skills both written and spoken is a must. Work language is English.

You will be part of a dynamic and ambitious environment, where you are given responsibility and expected to perform well under pressure which will give you a solid and valuable experience for your future career as well as the possibility to stay on as fulltime employee in Saxo Bank, upon finalizing your MSc. As the team covers both European and US trading hours out of HQ in Copenhagen from 8am to 24/midnight CET, you are required to work in shifts on a rotation basis. This includes Sunday evenings, Danish bank holidays, incl. Christmas Evening, New Year`s evening, Easter etc. Expected work week is 20-25 hours.

Among others you will be responsible for:

  • Risk reports
  • Trade & stop out execution verification
  • First point of contact for trading related queries from internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining & improving risk dashboards
  • Stakeholder on various IT, compliance & product related project
  • Collaborating with your team in analyses and the development of new reports and performance metrics.

Your profile

As a person you come across as a good communicator with a passion for what you do. You have a strong sense of quality and a will to succeed.

Further we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • You are enrolled in & an active student at CBS, KU, ITU or similar university/business school in Copenhagen area and have commenced your BSc or MSc in Finance, Economics or similar
  • You have demonstrated outstanding achievements in academic activities
  • Strong numerical, analytical skills and a curious and enthusiastic attitude
  • As an IT driven organization, interest in & understanding of IT is a must
  • Independent, very accurate and reliable work ethics with a detail-oriented approach
  • Broad knowledge within MS Excel, VBA, SQL, Phyton & PowerBI
  • Fluent in English, written as well as verbal.
  • Dedicated, hard-working, flexible and service minded
