Ready to apply your helicopter perspective across multiple product management areas?
Interested in the video surveillance/security industry and are you are looking for an opportunity to work more strategic and holistic with product management, we have just the perfect job for you. At Milestone you will join a leading global provider of IP Video Management Systems. We get the idea and we act on it, but as the complexity of the business grows we need to add more helicopter perspective, and that is what we need you to do.
Contributor to the building of a coherent product strategy
Instrumental to the Milestone business strategy is creating desirability of our technology platform for the market and developer community. As our Junior Product Manager for our software solution you will be involved in planning developing new products. You will be involved in defining market needs and technology opportunities and plan to release world-class products.
Together with other Product Managers - the role is focusing on driving our development for our solutions, contributing to our product roadmap, product life cycle management, development prioritizations based on Product strategy, working closely with Sr. Product Managers and Product Owners in R&D on EPICs, contributing to the current and future success of Milestone Systems.
The role will be focused to balance short term market needs and opportunities that clearly adds to a long-term value proposition and ensures competitive differentiation in the market.The most important are colleagues in the product management team, R&D, Product Marketing, and not least with key strategic development partners.
At Milestone, our Product Managers focus on specific parts of the business, e.g. online business and video management software (VMS. Your focus is basically to help answer the question: How can Milestone continue to stand apart as a company that addresses different customer needs across different market segments?
Responsibilities
- As a person, you are ambitious, have a lot of drive and are curious about innovating and creating products. You are independent and work analytically and a fast-changing environment motivates you. Challenges or resistance only pushes you to work harder
- You are commercially and technologically minded at the same time. You will understand current and future needs of our customers and can formulate commercially strong value propositions for your target audience for a specific topic
- You can dive in deep with the engineering team, defining problems and identifying solutions together in a collaborative manner. You can relate that understanding back to the customer experience and the overall market opportunity
- You know how to turn customer and partner needs into product requirements and technical features into messaging, value propositions, and competitive advantages
- You can brainstorm with product marketing, and discuss your product at all levels of technical knowledge, from the customer’s technical experts to the very non-technical end-user
- You like to keep your ear close to the customers and market – curious about feedback from the external community and internal stakeholders
- You have a clear passion for excellent product quality over time and understands in detail the benefits of updated product documentation for solutions in the market as well as the online product information at all times are key to our success
- You love to identify market opportunities, quantify them, and prioritize them
- You love to solve real problem for customers and partners
To succeed, you must work closely together with the Team Manager and all your Product Manager colleagues. Just as important, you must internal and external stakeholders. Internally, the sales organization, R&D, Product Marketing, and our Technology Partner team. Externally, the Milestone End-customers and key strategic Technology Platform Partners.
Industry knowledge from the video surveillance/security industry is not a “must” – we will teach you everything you need to know
We are looking for a profile with the necessary insights and business acumen to apply a helicopter perspective across multiple areas and initiatives. As such, you must like to take lead, and you do not wait for others to get you going. At the same time, you like to create results based on a shared effort where the focus is to get the right idea, not who came up with it. As part of this it, is natural part of your work to listen more than you talk, and you do so with curiosity and respect for the people you address. Additionally, your CV comprises:
- 1 to 2 years of Product Management experiences from an international high-tech company, managing all aspects of product life cycle. You could also come directly as a fresh graduate with the right mind-set and strong interpersonal skills
- Education at Master level and/or experience within both the commercial and technical field
- You are keen to learn all the elements the product management, including market and customer needs definition, requirements specifications, value proposition, prioritization and product lifecycle management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English is company language)
- An analytical mindset combined with business acumen
- Adds to excellent team work by proactively takeing up challenges to move forward
- Innovative – not afraid to challenge the status quo
- Preferably experienced in agile methods and strong problem-solving skills
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization

You will join our skilled and dedicated product management team at the Milestone HQ in Brøndby, Copenhagen. Our overall focus is to create the same high-level desirability for the Milestone product and technology platform no matter if you are a partner, an end-user or a developer.
