Your mission…
As Nordic Tax Director you will be a key business partner providing tax support to the business units on processes and in projects. You are overall responsible for the tax compliance for L’Oréal in the Nordic countries, and to support tax compliance you will in a pedagogic manner provide guidelines and training to relevant teams, and you will monitor and report the tax weight of the Nordic entities. Additionally, you will manage tax risks, audits, claims and litigations, and you will be L’Oréal’s main contact when interacting with local Tax and Customs authorities as well as other public authorities. You will also conduct tax intelligence monitoring new legislation and best practices involving networking with peer groups and business associations as well as with auditors, tax advisors and lawyer firms.
You will…
- Ensure that operations comply with local tax legislation and the Group’s norms and standards within the framework of the objectives defined by Group Tax
- Conduct Tax intelligence and monitoring for changes in law / practice (Remain constantly up to date with legislative and local regulatory developments that may impact on internal practices and, if the need arises, notify the Group's Tax Department.)
- Provide Tax Advisory and Assistance for the Nordic Region (Advise and provide all necessary technical support to the Country's Department in carrying out standard or exceptional operations.)
- Manage the Tax weight of the Nordic Region - (Ensure tax compliance, tax statements, tax returns, determine taxable income in accordance with local tax regulations and the Group's Tax Charter and tax payments etc.
- Provide Tax planning and strategy
- Manage the tax risk in the Nordic Region (anticipation, identification, evaluation and monitoring)
- Be the primary responsibility for the management and coordination of tax audit, tax litigation (Management of the tax risks and primary responsibility for the management and coordination of the tax audit, tax litigation etc. in the Nordic Region)
- Participate in Internal Tax networking - close communication and coordination with all tax actors and correspondents (Group Tax)
- Be in charge of Transfer pricing compliance (application of Group policy, update of Transfer pricing documentation)
- Build a close relationship with Nordics Region Accounting department and the Accounting Share service center to set up a tax efficient accounting framework
- Have close coordination and cohesion with and within the Group Tax department (Transfer Pricing, M&A, Customs, duties, and reporting
- Participate in External Tax Networking - development of a professional network to defend L'Oréal's interest and good working relationship with local tax authorities, other public authorities, and professional bodies.
You are...
- You have 7-10 years experience from an international company an international tax services provider (e.g., Big 4)
- You are fluent in English. Fluency in another Nordic language is a plus.
- You are a strong communicator as well as a proven self-starter with a good strategic view and an operative and pragmatic mind-set
- You are well versed with Danish and Nordic tax law (Sweden, Finland, and Norway)
- You know how to make presentations that will involve and engage your audience and deliver accurate and understandable reports about tax issues in English
- You have a strong analytical mindset and are able to transform data analysis, recommendations and insights into actionable strategies and implement these
- You are able to work independently defending your own ideas while looking for synergies across the Nordic markets as well as lead and work with all levels of staff from other departments
- You thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- You are a team player and know how to build connections & networks
- You have a hands-on and pro-active approach to understand operational issues, and propose tax efficient solutions and results
