SUMMARY:

The Global IT Compliance Specialist partners with the business to ensure timely execution of JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes Oxley) implementation activities and strengthen AGC Biologic’s US practices to ensure compliance with JSOX (Japanese Sarbanes Oxley) and other applicable laws and statutes.

The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure the effectiveness of all IT General Controls (ITGCs). This position is global and could support other AGC Biologics sites.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between IT and internal/external auditors for assurance activities, requests, and developing responses to audit findings.
  • Assist with the development of the company's internal controls program to be SOX (JSOX) compliant.
  • Prepare, document, and update flowcharts, risk matrixes and narratives for all relevant IT processes.
  • Assist in developing, adapting and updating necessary policies and procedures over IT processes.
  • Provide quality assurance of all IT General Controls through assessment, walkthroughs, and audits to ensure the operational effectiveness of those security controls.
  • Identify risks and gaps and facilitate remediation.
  • Ensure execution of ITGC controls by conducting IT controls management testing of controls independent of the audit schedule to save time during audits.
  • Report on executed controls and activities
  • Reviewing the audit assessments conducted by both internal and external audit teams.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external auditors, as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the implementation of ITGC controls
  • Reviewing third-party vendor attestation and audit reports, and providing feedback to business leaders and risk owners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Must have a “hands on” approach, with the willingness to be involved in all IT aspects of the implementation project from planning to execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships cross-functionally to fully understand the business and identify opportunities to mitigate IT compliance risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business processes, system workflows, and technology in order to be able to identify IT-related risks and guide business owners in defining effective and value-added risk mitigation plans.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with applicable industry laws and regulations; IT and SOX (JSOX) financial controls.
  • Strong knowledge of the internal control framework and a solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels across the organization.
  • Experience delivering presentations to various levels of management.
  • Previous experience supporting a company’s SOX (JSOX) program and designing and implementing a system of internal controls.
  • Experience working with global markets and shared services.
  • Ability to work independently in a decentralized location and to consistently meet stringent deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems, recommend effective solutions, and ensure that those solutions are implemented effectively and timely.
  • Familiarity with IT systems as they relate to reviewing and improving internal controls.
  • Must be able to travel globally to all AGC Biologics’ site up to 60%.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Information Technology required.
  • Professional certification including CISA a plus, but not required
  • A minimum of 8 year’s experience in Information Technology, Audit, Risk Management, Compliance or closely related field.
  • Exposure to Big 4 Accounting firm or large public company internal audit experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a diverse environment.
  • Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
