FORCE Technology’s maritime business unit in Lyngby provides services to the global construction and maritime industries. This covers advanced ship simulations plus experimental and computational evaluation of buildings, bridges, ships, and offshore structures to assess and optimise their performance.
The tank team is part of the Hydro- and Aerodynamics department and the team performs all the department’s tasks related to tank testing and hydrodynamics including R&D activities. That includes towing tank measurements related to - for instance - resistance and self-propulsion and maneuvering and wave tests with ships, offshore structures, and floating wind turbine foundations. Further, the team provides consultancy assistance to our clients based on the measured results in connection with design optimisation and troubleshooting.
As a member of the tank team, you will be responsible for the daily coordination, planning and execution of towing tank projects. Setup and testing in the towing tank will take place in close cooperation with our technicians. We offer a position in a dedicated and skilled team in a company with a strong focus on assisting clients worldwide with value creating consultancy related to ship and offshore hydrodynamics. Furthermore, relevant in-house courses and training are provided.

- Model design, setup of measuring equipment and execution of tests
- Data analysis and reporting
- Dialogue with clients during projects
- Participation in the team’s consultancy activities.
You most likely have a Master’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering with focus on naval architecture and/or floating structures and waves and a talent for experimental work and data acquisition. Furthermore, you are:
- knowledgeable about ship/offshore hydrodynamics
- experienced with and understanding of data analysis
- knowledgeable about programming (e.g. Matlab) and 3D drawing tools (Rhino/NAPA) preferred
- good at planning and executing projects to meet deadlines within allocated resources
- service-minded and enjoy engaging with clients.
