As part of Topsoe’s decarbonization journey we are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer -Civil/Structure design to be part of our team in the new competence center for our successful ModuLiteTM solution (modular process plants). The ModuLiteTM solution is mainly used within the Power-to-X area as well as our highly challenging demonstration projects of Topsoe’s new technologies (eREACT and others) in cooperation with strategic partners and customers around the globe.Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a skilled EPC / EPCM Chief Engineer Civil/Structure who will enjoy being part of a growing industry developing new technologies for decarbonization from drawing board to commercialization and wants to run the first wave of large-scale Power-to-X projects for major industry clients.
This means that you will be part of the:
  • Development of the ModuLiteTM structure design & concept (Topsoe’s modular process plants).
  • Standardization of the ModuLiteTM frame structure solution.
  • Development of our modular solutions in general.
  • Modular projects to ensure high quality and consistent alignment of the modular frame- and structure solutions across projects.
  • Support our commercial team with proposal work and technical clarification.
  • Prepare technical requirements for modular structure fabrication suppliers.
  • Technical evaluation of modular workshops and suppliers.
  • Inspections and quality control of modular supplier workshops within design and fabrication for structures and plant design in general (global travel is foreseen).
  • Participate in project execution.
  • Review of sub-contractor’s design and engineering.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews of plant design.
  • Participate in site installation & site inspections.

    Topsoe is an international company with headquarters based in Lyngby, Denmark. Job location possible in Lyngby or Frederikssund in Denmark, OR Essen in Germany, OR Delhi/Chennai in India.Location:
    Global travel will occur as needed, but approx. 25-50 days a year is foreseen.

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in mechanical engineering (Civil-structure design).
  • Mechanical engineering with competences in Civil and structure engineering.
  • Long term experience (approximately 15+ years) in execution of complex projects (EP, EPC, EPCM), preferably in the Petro-chemical industry, energy sectors or similar areas.
  • Knowledge in workshop fabrication and inspections of the above, preferable within oil & gas business.
  • Knowledge in national and international standards for Europe and USA (PED, EN norms, ASME, ANSI, API, TEMA etc).
  • Competences in structure design tools e.g. TEKLA etc.
  • Experience with modular process plant design is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in contract & claim management.
  • Experience in managing multiple subcontractors and complex interfaces.
  • Experience in execution of technology projects including hardware and supplier interaction.
  • Technical understanding of Chemical or Hydro-processing business is an advantage.
  • Cultural understanding in a global world
