A toxicologist position is open for 2 years temporary employment in the Department of Toxicology Development Projects, in Måløv.
About the department
The department is overall responsible for the non-clinical safety assessment of new drug candidates throughout the entire development. This includes also occupational health and safety evaluations of drug candidates. Furthermore, we provide biological evaluations of medical devices and toxicological risk assessment of impurities, excipients, extractables and leachables from process equipment and primary packaging material to ensure safety for our patients. Thereby we support a wide range of internal costumers.
Toxicology Development Projects currently holds 10 members. You will be part of a subgroup of 3 working with biological evaluations, risk assessment and occupational health and safety. Our department is characterized by an open, sharing, collaborative and ambitious atmosphere with good opportunities for further development.
The Position
We are looking for a person who can help us perform biological evaluations of medical devices and toxicological risk assessment of substances.
You will be responsible for making biological evaluations of medical devices in accordance with current regulations and guidelines. You will handle incoming requests on toxicological risk assessment on impurities, excipients, extractables and leachables from process equipment and drug primary packaging material. You will base your toxicological risk assessment on literature data and in silico models. Furthermore, you will plan and report in vitro and in vivo studies when needed for your assessment.
Also, you will be involved in toxicological assessment and communication of occupational health and safety of drug candidates for workers in production facilities.
You will work closely together with your colleagues in the group, with who you will discuss the cases to find the right scientific strategy to solve the tasks. You will have a large and diverse range of stakeholders from many different parts of Novo Nordisk so you will get insight into many different areas of the company. It is expected that you actively and continuously search for new knowledge within relevant fields and involve in external fora to stay updated.
Qualifications
You have a chemical/biochemical or life science master’s degree combined with a solid understanding of toxicology in a broad sense. You have experience in experimental work and preferably an educational or professional background in risk assessment. Ideally you have experience with biological evaluation of medical devices, toxicological risk assessment of drug primary packaging and production facilities and/or occupational risk assessment and communication.
We expect that you are clear in your communication, possess excellent written and spoken English skills and that you have focus on providing high-quality and timely results. We expect you to be a proactive partner in an open collaboration with colleagues in the toxicology group and other relevant stakeholders.
