The Position
You will support our journey towards systems-driven/optimised manufacturing (Industry 4.0) in close interaction with our systems modellers and material scientists by analysing data from state-of the-art characterization techniques, setting up advanced process simulations and conducting sensitivity analysis and parametric studies. In this way, you will be creating the foundation for tomorrow’s research, development and manufacturing processes.
You will have close collaboration with technicians, scientists and process engineers to exploit and improve process simulation techniques that help them in their daily work. You will be working on specific case studies and at times on ad-hoc tasks.
The internship
- Start date is 1st of February
- The internship position is a full-time position for 6 months with a potential for extension
- Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
- Full Time Danish (EU/EEA) work permit is required
- The intern needs to be enrolled at University.
Qualifications
You are currently studying or working towards a master’s degree in e.g. Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical/Food Engineering, Applied Mathematics or similar with excellent results and a natural flair and keen interest in mathematical modelling and process simulation.
You:
- have experience with solid mechanics techniques.
- have experience with Finite Element Analysis (ideally, already have taken “FEM-Heavy” course or similar) and are able to set-up and carry out FEA simulations using commercial software (i.e. Abaqus).
- have interest in data analysis and the use of scientific software (i.e. MATLAB).
- are self-driven and able to solve problems independently.
- have a passion for creating solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders.
We expect you will be good at what you do and have an eye for detail. You have a burning desire to learn new things and are curious about the processes and people you work with. You can work both independently and together with others.
About the Department and Team
You will join Oral Protein Formulation (OPF) which is a part of Novo Nordisk’s R&D family, focusing on late stage development of oral products. We make a real difference for patients with chronic diseases around the world. We develop, manufacture and analyse all new products coming out of our research units, ensuring that we bring best-in-class treatments to the market. Our ambition is to develop break-through products and make them accessible to all patients by optimising their development and manufacturing stages through the use of digital design tools.
You will join the Future Manufacturing and Digital Innovation team working in close collaboration with process systems engineers, materials characterization experts and research scientists. The team consists of 17 highly specialized colleagues with expertise ranging from programming and robotics to mechanistic modelling and materials science. We support activities across OPF and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
