You will be a key Scientific Software Engineer for our strategic initiatives on the digitalization of Research and Early Development, with a special focus on the development of our software products. The software products in scope include molecule registration systems, assay data management, electronic laboratory notebook, inventory management systems, and tools for raw data capturing.Your key areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Delivery of software products including new development, configuration, maintenance and installation of third-party packages, and software integration efforts.
• Participate in every part of the software development lifecycle such as software design, software development, and software deployment.
• Document system interfaces and integrations as well as help creating incident response plans and standard operating procedures.
• Incremental development and delivery of releases of software products according to the agreed roadmap, sometimes in coordination with application vendors
• Following Agile and DevOps model in delivering, supporting, and maintaining the software productsQualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
• B.Sc. in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or science
• 5 years of experience developing applications in the life sciences
• Expertise in several programming language such as C# and Python
• Experience in test-driven software development process using common tools (GitLab, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, JetBrains Rider)
• Expertise working with different operating systems such as Windows and Linux
• Experience in testing (Unit/Integration/System) and documentation
• Good technical understanding of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases, and Elasticsearch
• Experience with UI/UX design and development
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies
• Systematic approach to software development with focus on building robust, correct, and maintainable software
• Genuine interest and passion to understand our scientists’ use casesAbout the department
You will be part of the Data Management & Informatics (DMI) department, where we are responsible for providing scientific data and software products to support the global research and early development organisation at Novo Nordisk. Our work spans driving digitalisation of laboratories, enabling scientific data capture, creating harmonized data for analytics, and providing informatics tools. We enable disruptive innovation and data driven decision making across areas that include disease understanding, molecular design, portfolio management and external scouting.
