The position As Head of EVP Communication, you will be act as EVP Communication Partner to the EVP in R&ED in Novo Nordisk. You will set the strategic direction for communication in R&ED and drive and own all organisational communication within the EVP area. You will head up the EVP Communication Team and report to the Corporate Vice President of Strategy, Portfolio, Operations & Communication (SPOC) in R&ED. Your responsibilities will include: Acting as trusted advisor to EVP on strategic communication matters Part of the EVP Leadership Team and participating in EVP leadership team meetings Developing and aligning EVP communication strategies with the overall business strategy and organisational objectives Leading and developing an EVP Communication Team Innovating, developing and executing communication strategies, processes and activities for EVP strategic priorities Measurement and tracking of activities, rooted in strong digital acumen and capability to translate communications efforts to business outcomes Leading change communication efforts by developing and implementing communication plans to support organisational change initiatives Ensuring alignment with Global Communications’ strategic priorities and being a dedicated sparring partner to the Global Communication function The role will be based in Måløv, Denmark. Qualifications To thrive and succeed in this position, we expect you to have: Master’s degree in communication, business administration or related field together with a scientific foundation (minimum a Bachelor’s degree) Minimum 10–15 years of work experience from working within or across organisations in a large global Pharma company Strong professional communication background and impactful narrator with extensive experience as strategic communication advisor from other corporate environments Profound business experience and acumen within pharma Experienced in role modelling an enterprise mindset and promoting a culture of cross-functional collaboration Experienced in developing and implementing global change and communication strategies Experienced with people leadership Advanced and fluent in spoken and written English On a personal level, you have a strategic mindset, and you are proactive and self-driven with the ability to think critically and anticipate future trends/consequences. You possess the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively through communication strategies. You can work in a global, multi-cultural context and your robust interpersonal and communication skills enable you to effectively set direction and collaborate across teams and departments, fostering an environment of strategic thinking and a team-oriented approach. About the department R&ED Communication consists of the two newly established teams: Communication Excellence & Communication Partnering. The department is responsible for ensuring the delivery of clear and consistent communication throughout the EVP area, providing dedicated support to senior stakeholders in effectively communicating R&ED-specific priorities. In addition, the Head of EVP Communication/EVP Communication Partner will have the responsibility of orchestrating impactful strategic communication in R&ED and providing communication advisory to Marcus Schindler, EVP of R&ED. The department is part of the cross-functional area Strategy, Portfolio, Operations & Communication (SPOC) which serves as a central support entity within R&ED, partnering with the business to address existing and evolving priorities and needs. The organisation encompasses the centralised R&ED Communication team, a Project Management Consultancy team, driving impactful strategic, operational, cultural, and/or “out of the box” innovative projects in service of R&ED, as well as the Integrations, the Investments & DK Operations Team, the Strategy, Governance & Portfolio Team and Site Operations (US & NNCRO).
