We are looking for a Senior Finance and ESG Compliance Specialist to ensure that COWI operates in compliance with accounting practice, internal financial policies, and ESG requirements. You will be part of the Group Finance, Group Compliance team, a group function that performs financial compliance review visits and drives improvement and implementation of internal controls for COWI end-to-end processes including ESG reporting. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues in the Group Compliance team, the Group Reporting team, the ESG team as well as other group functions and finance colleagues globally. You will report to the Head of Group Compliance.

We are looking for a Senior Finance and ESG Compliance Specialist to ensure that COWI operates in compliance with accounting practice, internal financial policies, and ESG requirements. You will be part of the Group Finance, Group Compliance team, a group function that performs financial compliance review visits and drives improvement and implementation of internal controls for COWI end-to-end processes including ESG reporting. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues in the Group Compliance team, the Group Reporting team, the ESG team as well as other group functions and finance colleagues globally. You will report to the Head of Group Compliance.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining the internal controls framework for COWI end-to-end processes, focusing on financial and ESG reporting processes.
- Conducting regular compliance reviews with colleagues to assess internal control effectiveness.
- Monitoring changes in accounting and ESG regulations with the Group Reporting and ESG team to ensure compliance with relevant rules.
- Acting as a subject-matter expert on accounting, financial processes, controls, and documentation, while training and raising awareness among colleagues, including those in ESG.
- Contributing to the improvement and development of risk assessment and internal controls methodology.
- Participating in business trips to Denmark and other COWI locations, expected traveling would be 2-4 weeks per year.

On top of that, you will have:
- Master's degree in finance, accounting, or other relevant education. Professional certification like ACCA, CPA, CIA, or similar is a valuable asset.
- Interest in and experience with risk assessment, internal controls development and implementation, and effectiveness testing. Experience with development of ESG internal controls.
- 5+ years of experience in internal audit, financial compliance, and internal controls. Good understanding of end-to-end processes.
- Understanding of financial and ESG reporting standards, knowledge of international best practices regarding governance, risks, and compliance
- Ability to communicate effortlessly in English.
