Would you like to join a successful research team within health sciences? And help us expand our activities?
The pharmacoepidemiological research group at Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy, the Department of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark, Odense is looking for a new employee to help us expand on current activities, primarily with support for grant applications.
The position is full time with start May 1st 2020 (or as soon as possible) and will run for two years.
Importantly, this position is new and will therefore be shaped by and around the successful applicant.
Over the recent years, we have built a research group comprising approximately 15-20 individuals, primarily physicians, pharmacists and data managers. We focus on register-based studies, primarily studies of unintended effects of drugs but also development or refinement of methods and descriptive studies of drug patterns of drug use. We are heavily involved in numerous smaller and larger collaborations with researchers from all over the world. Lastly, we are working closely with nearby research groups, in particular within drug metabolism and clinical research.
With our increasing size and productivity, many new opportunities arise, not all of which we currently have the capacity to pursue. We hope to engage you as a grant officer to help facilitate larger grant applications and support and expand our many already established collaborations.
The main responsibility of this position will be maintaining an overview of funding opportunities and writing and structuring applications, of course in close collaboration with your scientific colleagues.
Depending on your specific profile and interest, other responsibilities might also be established, which could include establishing a Social Media presence and other ways of communicating our research findings more broadly.
Research experience (e.g. a PhD) and/or experience specifically with grant applications will be considered a plus.
We further expect you to have a proven record and/or relevant education regarding writing and dissemination.
Due to the nature of the work, experience with handling of complex portfolios with concurrent deadlines will also be important.
You should be capable of working independently and take responsibility for this subdomain of the group’s activities, you should be highly proficient in written and spoken English, and you should be interested in contributing to our collegial culture.
You will in your daily work refer to professor Anton Pottegård and professor Jesper Hallas, but also engage in a very active collaboration with the full research group.
Interviews can be performed online if needed. If you will need to relocate to Denmark for the position, both the University and the research group will provide ample support.
Additional information about the position can be obtained from professor Anton Pottegård ([email protected]; +45 65503024).
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
how to apply before you apply.
The University wishes our staff to reflect the diversity of society and thus welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of personal background.
