Power Engineer for Control Center at Nordic RSC
This is a opportunity to become part of a high-profile Nordic collaboration with a common vision to make a significant impact on the development of the energy sector of the future. A vision shared by the four Nordic TSOs involved (Transmission System Operator), who have entered into strategic cooperation in a joint Nordic office. Among other things, Nordic RSC (Regional Security Coordinator) is carrying out complex calculations and big data analyses in a regional Nordic grid model, which will lay the foundation for a more efficient multi-national power system in the Nordic region and throughout Europe. 125 employees from the Nordic TSOs are already working on the project.
Your new workplace will be in our shared office in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestaden.
Integration of power system analyses in the Nordic countries
As an employee at Nordisk RSC, you will be part of a team of operators ensuring the year-round delivery of services assisting the Nordic national control centers with:
- Preparation of national and Nordic power system models (CGM)
- Nordic power system security analysis (CSA)
- Nordic power system capacity calculations (CCC)
- Power adequacy calculations across the Nordic region (SMTA)
- Coordinating outage planning of assets in the Nordic power system (OPC)
You will contribute to the continuous development and maturation of the above services and to the build-up of the control room function that performs these services. You will be involved in development projects in a Nordic or European setting and facilitate interactions and good collaboration between the Nordic TSOs.
One other key role is your participation in the control center staff ensuring year-round delivery of services round the clock. Support wider initiatives aimed at improving the business processes for the benefit for the Nordic TSOs and maintain efficient and transparent communication of relevant information both within the Nordic RSC organization and between the Nordic TSOs.

International mind-set combined with IT and business understanding
You have an educational background with a university degree in the field of electricity or electrical power engineering. Experience from the energy sector or equivalent experience in TSO business is an asset. Ideally, you have control room experience or equivalent from a major industrial company.
Other key competences are:
Up-to-date knowledge of power systems, grid models and IT platforms for handling big data
- Analytical and structured approach and ability to handle complex processes
- Strong communication skills to facilitate building relationships and fluent in written and spoken English Ideally
- Knowledge of Scandinavian language and culture (preferred)
- Intercultural understanding and international work experience
- Team player with a positive mindset, strong organization and coordination skills working across diverse groups and disciplines
- Proficiency in working with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
On a personal level, you are open-minded and outgoing, as well as having the personal drive needed to implement innovative operational processes. You are eager to learn and have proven your ability to work in a changing environment with many concurrent deadlines.

The joint office of Nordic RSC has its home base in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestaden. It gathers the Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Danish Transmission System Operators (TSOs). Energinet has been chosen as the host-TSO for the joint office and is leading the implementation of this new important cooperation on reliable electricity supply.
