We’re looking for a visionary Head of Data Engineering to drive innovation and optimization in the development of data infrastructure and pipelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality data management solutions. The Position As Head of Data Engineering at Novo Nordisk, you will anchor the following responsibilities: Lead and develop a high-performing team of data engineers, fostering collaboration, innovation, professional growth, and diversity. Define and execute the data engineering strategy in alignment with stakeholders, ensuring strategic goals are met. Establish and drive best practices, standards, tools, and services for efficient data management and engineering excellence. Oversee the development and optimization of data pipelines, platforms, and tools, focusing on automation and scalability. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient data solutions to meet organizational needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical requirements and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Provide processes and capabilities to achieve data quality and system performance targets. Lead a Community of Practice (CoP) for data engineers, driving knowledge sharing and best practices across Global Data & AI. Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have: A master’s degree in data, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field. Experience of 12+ years of experience with relevant 5+years in Data Engineering/Integration. Proven expertise in cloud technologies, data modelling, data integration, metadata management, and governance. Familiarity with life sciences regulatory requirements and standards. Experience in designing scalable data engineering solutions and leading technical teams. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. You should be adaptable to ambiguity, curious about emerging technologies, and committed to fostering collaboration across teams. Your ability to inspire innovation, drive business outcomes, and lead with inclusivity will be critical to your success in this role. About the department You will be part of the Digital, Data and IT (DD&IT) Global Data & Artificial Intelligence team. The Data Management department is globally distributed and has for mission to harness the power of Data and Artificial Intelligence, integrating it seamlessly into the fabric of Novo Nordisk's operations. We provide the foundation to integrate the areas of Data and Artificial Intelligence throughout the whole organization, empowering Novo Nordisk to realize its strategic ambitions to create a connected data landscape. We drive the innovation, process definition, and platform implementation in the areas of data governance, data engineering design, master data management, metadata management, data marketplace, and data quality aligned with business priorities.
