MT Højgaard Danmark has an immediate requirement for a professional and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join upcoming exiting Special Projects around Denmark. We are therefore seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor, who wants to be a part of building technologically advanced and energy efficient buildings. You will have a versatile workday and your contributions will play a key role in the project. You will be our link to our client and to internal as external consultants as well as sub-contractors. Your workplace will be at one of our building sites in Denmark.
Tasks and responsibilities
Your primary tasks as Quantity Surveyor will be controlling construction costs and contracts whilst managing the dialogue with the client, subcontractors and suppliers.
Your overall tasks can be summarized to:
You will ensure that every change follows all current requirements and standards. You’re responsible for resolving corresponding or other claims from MT Højgaard Danmarks subcontractors. You must ensure that everything is documented correctly between all parties involved and you will give advice on the contractual requirements to the management of MT Højgaard Danmark and the project management team.
About you
We expect you to be a qualified quantity surveyor having between 3-8 years of work experience. Ideally you have worked for a main contractor in construction on projects with values exceeding 15 Mill Euro. We emphasize that you have experience with projects within residential, hotel or large infrastructure sectors.
You have analytical skills and can analyze results that are related to risk, value management and cost control. In addition, you have the ability to identify and analyze commercial risks associated with large complex projects.
For all these tasks you will have a competent, knowledgeable and supportive organization to collaborate with. Additionally, we expect you to be emphatic, articulate and confident to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferably, you have an exam or accredited courses from the respected Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or have ambitions to achieve this qualification.
You must be prepared for danish being the corporate language, but we do speak english as well since we cooperate with both danish and foreign clients, sub-contractors and suppliers. This means that non-danish speaking candidates will be provided with language assistance and language classes.

- Providing commercial input including financial and contractual performance to the management team
- Preparing monthly cost/value reports including review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
- Producing commercial reports including review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
- Agreeing certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring such accounts against forecasts
- Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
- Managing subcontractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payment.
