Dynaudio, the legendary Danish speaker maker, is looking for a new Manager for our Industrial Design team, located at our global headquarters in Skanderborg.

The Industrial Design function at Dynaudio plays an important role in the development of our world famous speakers, and as Manager of the team you will therefore play an important role in ensuring the Dynaudio DNA is carried forward in the design of our future speakers. The ID team is part of all new major product developments.
Your primary role is to ensure the design of our speakers is in line with our Design Manual, and also fulfils the requirements of the markets, as expressed in our product briefs.

About the department
In this role you’ll be having direct leadership responsibility for one Industrial Designer, and in due course you’ll be charged with expanding the team, to ensure we can deliver on our growth plan.
The team interacts with multiple stakeholders throughout the organisation, and you’ll be sharing an office with our Marketing and Product Management teams, meaning you’ll be in close contact with likeminded, creative people.
About you
You have at least 3 years’ experience working as an industrial designer, preferably in a production company. Your educational background is probably either as industrial designer or design engineer at bachelor’s level, or as designer in combination with work experience from the consumer electronics or audio industry.
Past experience shows that you know your way around the industrial design function as such, and you master key IT programs such as the Adobe suit, Rhino or similar, as well as Keyshot or similar programs.
We prefer candidates who have some management experience, and if you have a genuine interest in consumer electronics this is considered as a plus..
At the personal level, you are characterised by a can-do attitude combined with a natural curiosity towards other cultures and professions, you have the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time. Your cross-functional mindset enables you to create lasting working relationships with many types of stakeholders.
You possess a pragmatic approach to problem solving, with focus on delivering what the customers need, and you are skilled as a communicator which enables you to present your ideas in a compelling way.
English is our main company language, so you’ll need to be comfortably fluent in both writing and speaking it too.

The Industrial Design function at Dynaudio plays an important role in the development of our world famous speakers, and as Manager of the team you will therefore play an important role in ensuring the Dynaudio DNA is carried forward in the design of our future speakers. Your primary role is to ensure the design of our speakers is in line with our Design Manual, and also fulfils the requirements of the markets, as expressed in our product briefs.
Other responsibilities include:
- Acting as design lead and taking the main responsibility for new trends/directions.
- Creating the product design for company’s future products.
- Maintaining and developing the Design Manual in cooperation with Product Management and Marketing.
- Taking the role of gatekeeper in some of our development projects.
- Creating sketches and/or 3D models of concept ideas.
- Creating presentation material of concept proposals to be used including either computer renderings or hand renderings.
- Creating computer renderings of the finished concept proposal.
- Participating in project meetings where the design is part of the agenda.
- Concept development of design directions and ideas for functionality when it relates to user interaction and experience (UX design) - both overall and in detail.
- Keeping up with trends in the market regarding materials, shapes, technologies etc. that could be relevant for the concept development.
