Storage Solution Specialist - Global IT

In this team we are exploring, designing and implementing solutions for Demant’s global IT infrastructure, spanning datacenters and smaller sites across the globe.
As our new Storage Solution Specialist, you will predominantly work with storage technologies, both on-premises and in cloud, but you can also expect to get involved in server and virtualization areas of IT infrastructure solutions. You are expected to be the go-to person for your area for our IT Operations, as well as for our internal customers and project managers. You will predominantly be working in projects designing and implementing solutions, but you can also expect ample opportunities to go hands-on in lab or troubleshooting.

Join Datacenter Solutions in Infrastructure & Operations
As Storage Solution Specialist you will join the Datacenter Solutions team, consisting of 9 people. It is a part of the Infrastructure & Operations department where 80 people in total are working out of our offices in Denmark and Poland. You will be working alongside specialists in the areas of Datacenter facilities, Network, Telephony, Server & Server Virtualization, Backup and Virtual Workspace (Citrix/VDI).
We offer you a possibility to work with global projects and design and implement them together with energetic and engaged colleagues. We are currently working on many interesting projects and tasks, for your area these are some of them:
Upcoming and ongoing Projects & Tasks
- Designing and implementing next generation solution for on-premise backup storage
- Expand and streamline our IBM storage solutions for live data in our datacenters
- Design and implement cloud-based storage for backup data
- Implement new Netapp filer solution
- Restructuring Asia Pacific datacenters
In your daily job, your most important stakeholders will – besides your own team - be our Datacenter Operations department in Poland. Furthermore, you will work in close collaboration with departments like Core Infrastructure Solutions in Denmark consisting of other solution specialists in the areas of Microsoft Core, Microsoft Cloud and SCCM. You will also collaborate with Infrastructure Management and ServiceDesk units around the world.
Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:
- Design and implement stable and cost-efficient datacenter storage solutions, on premise and in cloud, for both production and backup.
- Modernize and maintain monitoring and metrics for storage area
- Participate in projects as Storage Solution Specialist
- Ensure policies, standards and configurations are up to date and usable by Datacenter Operations
- Provide technical counseling for stakeholders inside and outside IT
- Develop ideas and roadmaps into projects
- Occasionally participate in Operations tasks, e.g., Incident Management
Good experience with IBM, Dell and cloud storage
To succeed in this position, it´s important that you have several years of experience from an IT Infrastructure environment, preferably in an international company. You may currently be working as a specialist or consultant. Maybe you have been working as a hands-on storage specialist or have experience as a Solution Architect or similar. In any case it is important that you have experience with our main storage technology, which is based on IBM SAN.
To sum up, we are looking for the following:
- Expert knowledge about SAN systems, SAN switches and NAS systems
- Preferably specific experience with IBM All Flash, Netapp and Isilon systems
- Good knowledge and experience with public cloud storage, e.g., Azure or Softlayer
- Some knowledge of VMWare and Commvault would be beneficial
- As a person you are openminded, collaborative and thrives when communicating with many different stakeholders. You are curious and analytical and an excellent problem solver. You like to plan and organize your own tasks – and it motivates you to learn and develop new skills.
