Do you want to create the framework for how our products are sterilised in this brand new position? And do you want to make a difference for patients undergoing surgery by securing the compliance of the medical devices used by healthcare professionals?
At Ferrosan, we are looking for someone to be in close contact with our sterilisations partners in a way that secures the usual high-quality standards for our products.
Join our Technology Innovation team
We develop and produce a portfolio of haemostatic products to minimise bleeding challenges in surgeries. Our products are registered as medical devices and sold internationally to more than 100 countries. All main functions in the company, including our production facilities, are based in Soeborg, Denmark, so everyone sits door to door with easy access to each other.
You will be joining our Technology Innovation team, consisting of 12-15 engineers and pharmacists who participate in development projects for new devices. Our role is to ensure that all production processes – whether internal or external – are validated, qualified and optimised. As a team, we work within a range of areas, including the moulding process, blister packs and sterilisation.
Ensure and optimise our sterilisation processes
When we need our products sterilised, we use external sterilisation partners. To ensure that they live up to the high quality and standards we are known for, we have created this role, in which your most important task will be to collaborate closely with these external partners. By learning about and understanding their ways of operating, you can collaborate with our partners and monitor their processes, ensuring that these are up to par, as well as assist in identifying any potential optimizing opportunities.
Some of your closest colleagues will be our category managers, who are already working closely with our sterilisation partners. You will be our technical expert on sterilisation matters, while they will handle the commercial aspects of the collaboration.
More specifically, you will:
• Contribute to optimising processes at our sterilisation partners and ensure that they are at an approved level of validation at all times
• Drive the selection of new sterilisation partners with an eye for optimisation, whether it be financial, environmental or in terms of efficiency
• Ensure the compliance and cost-efficiency of our processes with our partners
• Participate in our daily operations with existing products as well as contribute to our development projects
• Travel 10-20 days a year to visit suppliers in e.g. the United Kingdom and the Netherlands together with the respective category manager
“You will become our technical sterilisation expert and go-to person for our category managers on technical questions. To ensure that you keep up-to-date on your knowledge, we will offer you participation in relevant courses, conferences and seminars,“ says Director, Technology Innovation, Jannik Dipo Knudsen.
You have good communication skills and technical knowledge of sterilisation
You have great practical experience working with sterilisation – whether it be within medical supplies, utensils or at a supplier. In other words, we are open to various backgrounds. What is most important is that your professional background makes you qualified to and comfortable setting a direction for the future of our sterilisation processes.
Becoming responsible for many aspects of our collaboration with our sterilisations partners and their processes, you will need great communication skills and the ability to present complex results to internal and external stakeholders with different levels of technical understanding.
Overall, we imagine that you:
• Can maintain and expand an external network
• Probably have a relevant graduate level education, perhaps within engineering or chemistry – but like we stated, we are open to other entries
• Can speak and write English and Danish at a corporate level
• Have great teamworking skills and are able to run with your own tasks and responsibilities
