Strong people and lean manager to resume responsibility for Manufacturing at Ferrosan Medical Devices A/S

Your role
As Director for Manufacturing your primary role will be to lead the managers and employees in the department and set direction for the area. You will be an important part of the management team in Operations.
You will manage your area based on respect and humility and a strong focus on continuous improvement. You will be guided by the strategy of the company and our drive to focus on value creation for our customers.
We have a strong focus on lean management and work with structured problem solving, kata and a daily performance board structure that allows us to identify problems early (see), solve problems to root cause (solve) and share solutions in a structured and sustainable way (share). You will play an active role in coaching your managers on lean behaviour to further drive our lean culture through on the shop floor interaction and feedback.
You will support your employees through sparring on decision making, ongoing prioritization and removal of roadblocks. You will ensure that the right competences are available and utilized efficiently across daily operations as well as local and company projects. You will ensure competence development of your employees and if needed and possible recruitment of missing competences.
Collaboration internally in Operations and with peers across the organization is an essential part of your job. You will on an ongoing basis interact with managers (peers), project managers and employees in other parts of the organization.
Manufacturing
The department is organized within Operations – in line with two other departments - Supply Chain Management and Technology Innovation. As head of Manufacturing, you will refer to the VP of Operations and be part of the Operations management team.
The department consist of app. 100 employees covering managers, engineers, process supporters, operators, specialists, and technicians. The department is organized in six teams each reporting to the head of Manufacturing - three production teams - producing in three shifts, Technical Support – responsible for maintenance and calibration, Process Support and Facility Management & EHS. The department is responsible for all manufacturing of gelatine-based products at the Ferrosan Medical Devices A/S site in Søborg – this includes full responsibility for safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost.
About you
You have a relevant academic degree e.g., within engineering. You have ideally worked within the medical device and/or pharma industry and have a solid understanding of GMP and ISO13485. You have at least five years of management experience from e.g. Manufacturing, Manufacturing Development or other relevant areas.
You are a strong people manager, and you lead through respect and humility. You have a strong focus on ensuring an ongoing dialogue with your employees to drive performance and development of the individual and the organization.
You are focused on creating results and it is natural for you to think and live continuous improvement through a lean mindset. You thrive in a busy and changing environment and have a strong ability to establish a common overview and direction for your area.
You have a strong focus on balancing short- and long-term plans and targets and on ensuring effective stakeholder cooperation via effective collaboration. You communicate effectively at all levels and in both Danish and English.

Our portfolio consists of various hemostatic products to minimize bleeding challenges in surgery and electromechanical medical devices to perform breast biopsies. New ideas are developed and matured from the first thought to finished implementation in production. And we manage the business with an uncompromising focus on quality based on current GMP requirements.
