Asset Optimization Specialist, Power-to-X

Would you like to develop, analyze and optimize future PtX-projects? Does it motivate you to be on the very frontline of the renewable energy business? Then you might be our new colleague in this newly created position.

Your new team

You will be part of our growing PtX-department which consists of 44 dedicated colleagues. We are currently working on several utility-scale projects in Denmark as well as North and South America.

Your new role

Would you like to develop, analyze and optimize future PtX-projects? Does it motivate you to be on the very frontline of the renewable energy business?

Then you might be our new colleague in this newly created position.

This is a unique technical and commercial position, where you will be analyzing and optimizing our two PtX-plants coming on stream in 2023, including the World’s largest E-methanol factory. In collaboration with the team, you will be making recommendations on how to further optimize the unit cost from the plants, while fulfilling our delivery obligations of green fuels to our customers. Secondly, you will be providing recommendations on how to transfer these learnings in order to improve the unit cost of our future PtX-plants in our rapidly growing development pipeline.

You can look forward to working with the following:

  • Building and improving our virtual PtX-plants/digital twins, including optimization of the connected renewable energy park.
  • Daily interaction with Operations and BRP (Balance Responsible Party) to ensure optimal “logistic flow” of electricity, CO2 import, methanol export, etc.
  • Benchmark forecast accuracy versus perfect insight and apply lessons learned to further improve forecasting accuracy to optimize profit from the plants.
  • Analysing actual power consumption, power prices, and yield from our PtX-plants.
  • Make recommendations on how to further optimize the unit cost from the plants while fulfilling our delivery of green fuels obligations.
  • Ensuring that lessons learned are captured and that the appropriate functions understand and make use of this information in pursuit of value optimization.
  • You will be interfacing with key stakeholders e.g., the Operations Team, PPA (Power Purchasing Agreement), the Innovation Team, BRP/Energy Trader, and the Technology Team.
  • Development of the optimal weekly production schedule and liaise with O&M & BRP to balance risk/rewards.
  • Identify and recommend improvement initiatives (CAPEX & OPEX) for current and future plants.

Job prerequisites

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Data-analytics, Economics, or similar.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Business Intelligence
  • Simple programming skills are advantageous.

You are self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and you have the eagerness to drive things forward. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with good communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

With us you get

  • To be part of a rapidly growing company at the core of the green transition.
  • The possibility to work in an entrepreneurial environment where gaining hands-on experience is encouraged, while at the same time new ideas and proactivity are valued.
  • We make an effort to welcome you as our new colleague. We prepare individual onboarding plans and everyone is assigned a buddy.
  • We prioritize our employees’ development. You will be enrolled in our People Development Program to ensure continuous learning and engagement.
  • We offer the opportunity to work remotely and have flexible working hours.
