For Danfoss we are looking for a mechanical engineer, that has injection molding design experience within industrial electronics to join their global Hardware Development team and lead strategic projects.
You will be offered a unique job opportunity to apply both a strategical mindset, directing the future of your business unit, and a hands-on, practical focus to ensure quality product development. Based out of Denmark, you will regularly collaborate with a global team, and can expect approximately 10 days of travel per year. Your day-to-day workplace can be Nordborg, Kolding or another Danfoss location. However, you must be able to frequently visit Nordborg.
Job Responsibilities
You will join an innovative team consisting of both R&D and Supply Chain Integration specialists. In this collaborative setting, we are working in a project base environment with both traditional and agile methodologies. You will not only maintain an existing product portfolio, but also be part of developing new products and product platforms. Your mission will be to direct and lead the successful development of mechanical design for electronic controllers and services. You will execute R&D activities and will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners; thus you will need to communicate specifications at a high level of detail and be good at following up on tasks.

Background & Skills
The ideal candidate for this role holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanics, Electromechanics, or similar, and has extensive relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineer in industrial electronics or similar markets. You have experience in project management of product development, processes, and tools. You are fluent in both written and spoken English. On a more personal note, you work independently with a proactive approach, have a holistic mindset, and thrive in a cross-functional environment.

- Provide specification and design of mechanical parts for industrial electronics
- Provide early prototypes through Additive Manufacturing (3D printing)
- Direct communication with suppliers to control fast and first-time right execution of projects
- Be a proactive member of NPI/PMI teams, supporting cross-functional team activities
- Ensure product packaging solutions and approvals according to transport requirements
- Find and drive cost down opportunities considering total cost of ownership
- Lead the business unit mechanical strategy and ensure platform and modular-based design approach

- Design for injection molding skills and experience with electronics enclosure requirements
- Knowledge of IPC requirements and Design for Six Sigma, -Assembly, -Manufact., -Automation, -Test, -Cost
- Ability to use Simulation tools and perform tolerance chain impact analysis’
- Skills in CAD software (CREO, AutoCAD or similar) and knowledge of 2D drawings
- Knowledge of SAP DMS and PLM tool (PDM Link or similar)
- Knowledge of APQP including SPPAP, FMEA and use of special characteristics
- Experience with NPI/PMI models
- Knowledge of circular economy and ability to ensure compliance to RoHS/Reach/SVHC (Negative list)
