On behalf of TMC Shipping, MARPRO is looking for a skilled Charterer to help further their already impressive growth.

TMC is a well-established multi-modal freight operating, chartering, ship management company with an excellent track-record, aiming to provide the international multi-modal transport industry with professional and efficient services in dry-commodities specifically.

Having started in 2012 the company has maintained an unblemished reputation and enjoys excellent support from owners worldwide, and the team serves suppliers, traders and end-users as well as the ship owners with a wide range of solutions including time and voyage charters as well as contracts of re-affreightment.

TMC prides itself on the heigh level of its employees and considers them top of the line when it comes to maritime knowledge and professionalism. They can depend on a wealth of experience and skills covering all fields of aspects related to freight and shipping.

We are looking for a profile that is ready for the next step in his career.

We want you to be just as passionate about shipping as we are. Having a background as an operator is highly preferred as is an established network in the Americas (North and South) as well as Northern Europe.

You are an efficient and structured person who takes pride of ownership in his work.

As the maritime industry is often unpredictable, you are flexible and ready to step in when required. You are a team player and enjoy getting the best out of yourself and your colleagues. Sometimes it might get hectic, so you need to be able to keep a cool head and be able to handle having a lot of balls in the air.

Required competencies of the prospective hire are:

  • - A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics
  • - Active experience as an operator
  • - A minimum 5 of years’ experience in shipping logistics and chartering (freight/shipping)
  • - A broad network of brokers and ship-owners with a focus on North and South America and Northern Europe
  • - Knowledgeable on demand and supply and market dynamics
  • - In-depth knowledge of international product and shipping market, the ship chartering process, the fundamentals of supply/demand in freight markets and competitors.

Your responsibilities would be:

  • - Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and potential clients
  • - Identifying opportunities
  • - Negotiating, validating and executing shipping deals
  • - Coordinating with traders and operators to manage vessel chartering requests
  • - Monitoring market conditions and keeping abreast of relevant day to day information
  • - Developing an annual strategy together with traders and operators
  • - Maintaining excellent administration of your work
  • - Other relevant jobs required of you by the management
