Primary Duties and Responsibilities: In the Active Products department, we are 30 highly skilled and enthusiastic engineers working with both upstream and downstream processes within pharma and biotechnology. We are responsible for designing the needed equipment to generate a specific product. The team is divided between our headquarters in Virum and our office in Kalundborg.
We strive to inspire our customers with new technologies and help them find the optimal solutions when building new facilities, expanding or renovating existing ones. In a word where digitalization is growing so fast, we feel that being able to make the right simulations with the data available is very important, and our customers require more and more to see a model in order to make the right decisions, instead of using theoretical data only. This is one of the biggest trends in the industry: base production decisions on digital twins, and at NNE we would like to reinforce our simulation competences in order to help our customers with that.
You will get the opportunity to participate in most phases of projects and learn from experts in all areas. All our activities are project-based, meaning that every new task will give you a new opportunity to develop your personal competences. Some of the specific tasks that you would be involved in are:
You will be part of a small team within the department that focus on simulation and be linked to a team that we are creating in our Indian office to support us with these types of tasks. But you will also be part of projects where your engineering skills can be used. We are therefore looking for a person with a broad profile.

- calculating the production capacity of a facility, by creating scheduling simulations (we have used SchedulePro before, now we are using Inosim). This will include equipment size and utility consumption.
- Creating CFD simulations for trouble shooting or specific equipment design
- Involvement in Front end studies to evaluate different scenarios
- Working with automation for designing the control strategy of the process equipment and recipe development
- Improve our digital internal tools
You will be part of a small team within the department that focus on simulation and be linked to a team that we are creating in our Indian office to support us with these types of tasks. But you will also be part of projects where your engineering skills can be used. We are therefore looking for a person with a broad profile.
Required Qualifications:
- You have a degree in engineering within chemistry, biotechnology or pharmaceutical production
- You have interest on digitalization, simulation and manufacturing intellingence.
- Experience in the life science/ biotech industry will be an advantage
- Skills in a programming language like Python and/or VBA is a must
- You have experience with OpenFoam or a similar commercial package
- You familiar with discrete event simulation (f.ex. FlexSim/Inosim)
- You speak and write English fluently; good knowledge of Danish will be an advantage.
- You are able to work independently but also enjoy working together with colleagues in a team.
- You take responsibility when solving projects and you thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- You are result oriented and have a strong customer understanding and a consultant mindset.
