The job
As Senior Manager, European Public Affairs, you will act as the company’s primary point of contact for European-level external stakeholders and represent LEO Pharma’s interests and priorities at the EU level and across the continent.
The key objectives of this role include:
Due to the nature of this position, you can be based at LEO Pharma headquarters in Ballerup, greater Copenhagen area of Denmark; Brussels, Belgium; or London, UK. You will report to the Vice President of Global Public Affairs.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in both the pharmaceutical industry as well as European level public affairs and policy.

The job
As Senior Manager, European Public Affairs, you will act as the company’s primary point of contact for European-level external stakeholders and represent LEO Pharma’s interests and priorities at the EU level and across the continent.
The key objectives of this role include:
- Be the lead representative of LEO Pharma to EU & European-level stakeholders.
- Advocate on behalf of the company with policymakers, in compliance with all EU, local and company guidelines and regulations.
- Develop a Europe-level corporate public affairs, including key objectives, priorities, and goals for short-, mid-, and long-term timelines.
- Lead the relationship with EFPIA and other pan-continent industry associations, trade organizations and entities.
- Support & staff CEO, Global Leadership Team, and senior leadership of the company in relevant EFPIA assignments.
- Support the public affairs efforts of the thrombosis business unit.
- Monitor legislation and regulatory matters affecting LEO Pharma and advise company with respect to policy matters.
- Represent LEO Pharma in meetings with public officials and elected members
- Identify emerging trends that may impact on company operations, reputation or performance.
- Contribute to the development of relevant policies and position statements
Due to the nature of this position, you can be based at LEO Pharma headquarters in Ballerup, greater Copenhagen area of Denmark; Brussels, Belgium; or London, UK. You will report to the Vice President of Global Public Affairs.
Your qualifications
The ideal candidate has a solid background in both the pharmaceutical industry as well as European level public affairs and policy.
- Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master of advanced degree in relevant field strongly preferred (i.e. Public Affairs, Policy, Health Policy, Public Health, Law, Communications, Journalism, Medicine, etc).
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience working within or with the European Union, trade associations, pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
- Knowledge and familiarity of the EU environment in Brussels is desirable as well as having an existing network of policymakers, staffers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- You have a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of successfully leading, engaging and delivering on advocacy and policy related projects as well as a comfort-level engaging with senior leadership in organizations.
- You have strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and agencies.
- Excellent communications, analytical, and writing skills.
- Ability to travel frequently between LEO Pharma headquarters, Brussels and other European locations as needed.
