As Procurement Manager, Direct Materials at ALK you will join the Global Procurement Function team, which is an engaged and passionate team, that values skills, knowledge creation, pragmatism, and integrity. The Global Procurement function is present across their various sites in the US, France, Spain, and Denmark. As Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in managing tactical and strategic procurement at the production site in Denmark, Hørsholm, and you will manage and work with part of ALK’s portfolio of global direct suppliers, together with international production sites, quality functions, and your procurement colleagues outside Denmark.

With direct report to Senior Global Procurement Manager, and close collaboration with management and employees at ALK’s production site in Denmark.

Your main tasks are:

• Source new materials for the production, including negotiation, contracting, and onboarding
• Manage all existing suppliers and contracts for production materials
• Conduct supplier evaluations
• Supplier management and key contact to suppliers
• Preventive risk management in relation to external supply disruptions
• Plan and execute optimisation of supply/suppliers according to Global Procurements value drivers, ie. quality, sustainability, ebit, time, and Innovation
• Procurement point of contact for direct materials at Site Hørsholm and point of escalation for local purchaser
• Communication and stakeholder management

Your qualifications are a minimum of 4 years experience within tactical and strategic procurement and sourcing, which you ideally have gained from working within a pharmaceutical company, or i.e. a related industry as specialty chemicals, food ingredients, or the like. You are skilled in strategic procurement tools, project management, stakeholder management, and quality management, preferably GMP.

You have a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, pharmacy, food technology, business administration or other relevant fields.

You are a person with great communication skills and are excellent in establishing and maintaining long-term relations with various stakeholders and suppliers as well as co-workers. You are great at demonstrating benefits and risk calculated choices, and you are easily able to transform processes into efficient and successful activities. You are a strong negotiator, an expert in your field, and you approach challenges and obstacles with a curious, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset. You are strategic and analytical thinking and have an outgoing approach towards others.

Travelling: Approx. 20-25 days, domestic and foreign visits.
