Manager, Direct Procurement

Are you passionate about supplier innovation, value engineering and sustainable raw materials? Are you an experienced procurement specialist with strong project management- and leadership skills? Then you may be our new colleague and Manager for Direct Procurement.

We are looking for a replacement for our current manager, who after six years has decided to pursue new opportunities. Our new Manager, Direct Procurement will lead the Direct Procurement team, facilitate strategy implementation, and lead stakeholder engagement, while also taking on strategic procurement responsibility for several strategic sourcing categories and -suppliers.

Procurement is anchored as a Group function with direct reference to the CEO, working with strategic and operational procurement of both Direct spend, Indirect spend and Goods for Resale. We have an ambitious strategy with on cost, risk mitigation & value creation.

Your key stakeholders will be Operations in all countries and production sites, R&D to work on projects for cost-out, secure supply projects and innovation, Supply Planning for forecast and safety stock, & Product Marketing responsible for our assortment.

You will be responsible for the entire strategic procurement process, from analysis and sourcing category strategies, portfolio planning on projects and cost, supplier- search and qualification, tendering and negotiations, contract- and contract management and supplier relations. Operational procurement is handled by the operational procurement team including purchasers at all production sites.

With acquired companies, you will also be responsible for cost out synergies between all Flügger companies, as well as joined contracts, knowledge sharing etc. You will participate in the development and execution of the procurement Must Win Battles to optimize Procurement and to deliver on the Flügger Going Green strategy. And you will drive knowledge sharing and capability development in Procurement within and across teams.

Your palette

You are an experienced procurement professional with a fully stocked toolbox and knowledge of direct procurement, especially raw materials. You have a good technical flair and interest in raw materials in order to work with R&D and suppliers on material substitution and innovations. You have have a strong business acumen and you are results oriented with a strong drive, and you have the negotiation and relations skills to secure sustainable cost optimization. Strong collaboration and communication skills are naturally central to the role. Additionally, we expect you to have:

• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with strategic procurement of direct spend and with experience from production companies
• Strong project management skills and demonstrated leadership skills
• A Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Chemistry, or the like
