Chief Procurement Officer

We are now seeking an ambitious Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to join MCI.

We offer

As our new CPO, you will define and execute the overall procurement strategy and activities for MCI with an annual spend around USD 500m

You engage closely with stakeholders across MCI Tinglev and Qingdao within Procurement, R&D, Production, Quality as well as with external suppliers. You will be based in our HQ in Tinglev and have reports in both Denmark and China in a truly global team. In this role you will have a significant impact on MCI’s overall strategy.

Key responsibilities

As part of our Senior Management Team, you will ensure that procurement is enabling MCI’s strategic agenda and contribute to the overall strategic direction of MCI.
Furthermore, you will

• ensure that all activities are in line with Maersk Procurement and MCI policies within the field of procurement
• be an integrated part in our innovation to ensure full mapping of potential suppliers and alignment on commercial terms are mirrored with the stages of the product development.
• ensure MCI competitiveness and provide regular and full situa-tional awareness to the senior management team of MCI.
• drive the global procurement leadership teams across all cate-gories, including CAPEX.
• drive category strategies for raw materials, parts, mechanical components, and electronics.
• continuously push for systemic improvements to processes and performance to drive procurement excellence.

We are looking for

To qualify for this position, you need to:

• have 10+ years experience in procurement and at least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing a full function area.
• Solid knowledge/experience in strategic as well as operational procurement and supply chain management areas.
• experience with procurement for R&D- and manufacturing-based industry is a must.
• detailed understanding of the dynamics within purchasing of electronic modules and single components.
• broad portfolio in category management of commodities/raw materials (steel, paint, etc.)
• experience with CAPEX (USD 250k – 25m) negotiation and execution.
• solid experience with the global supply, supplier, and stakeholder landscape
• experience with ERP system transformation is an advantage.
• cross-cultural senior leadership experience
• language: English. Danish, German or Chinese is an advantage

This position will be located in Tinglev in Denmark.
