Proposal Engineer/ Application Engineer - Engineered Solutions

Your Role

In order to further improve customer satisfaction and to guarantee the high level of quality in terms of project handling and technical support, we are currently looking for a proposal engineer to expand the High Pressure Engineered Solutions team, linked to the product company Atlas Copco Crépelle in France, but dedicated to the German market. The prime focus is on high-specification like Oil & Gas markets, more in particular on the emerging markets such as Hydrogen and CCUS – projects that are crucial for the energy transition

As a proposal engineer, you are responsible for on time creation of quotations for these non-standard High-pressure gas piston compressor products.
On the request for quotations entering via Customer Center Germany you will offer according to the applicable QA procedures a correctly described and clearly defined content, which can be delivered within a realistic period and at the predetermined profit margins.

This implies that you independently assess the feasibility of a project in all its aspects and are able to translate specific customer needs into a viable product.

You’ll make respectively a cost/benefit analysis, based on the material and engineering cost, and the price levels and delivery times applicable on the market.

It is expected to have and sustain a good - daily - contact with both the Engineered Solutions and other supporting (incl .engineering) teams at Atlas Copco product company Crépelle as well as with the Customer Centers Business Development Manager(s) [BDM]. To enable this, frequent travel will be required.

Assisting the BDM(s) during Technical scope and specification clarification with the end customers will also be part of the job scope.

After transferring a project to the contract office according to the applicable steps of the internal Order Management Process, you will continue to support where necessary and process technical and financial feedback in further quotations.

You maintain a database of all your assignments and follow up on their status.

In addition to your operational proposal work, you also act as a technical competence carrier for the High-pressure product ranges.

You report to the Teamleader Proposal.

Knowledge/Educational requirements

• Technical background, Master degree in Engineering , or equivalent through experience
• At least 3 years of experience in reading and interpreting specifications (type Oil & Gas projects)
• Fluent communicator in English, German is a plus – French is an asset
• 5 years of experience in a technical environment,
• Knowledge in PLC/DCS and customer process integration
• Interested in IT applications and their integration in the department
