We are now hiring a Procurement Officer to join our Nordic APM Terminal team in Aarhus. Your employment will be with APM Terminals Nordic, and You will be reporting directly to the Nordic cluster procurement manager who is based in Aarhus. You will work with one colleague in Aarhus and two dedicated colleagues in our Shared Services Center ‘The Purchasing Hub’ in Tangiers, Morocco. This is a very varied role where you will build strong relationships with people on the workshop floor, the management of the terminal as well as the global procurement function. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all parts of the running of the terminals – both the strategic and transactional.

Key responsibilities:

You need to be able to understand both the commercial and the operational side of the terminals to become a trusted advisor and support in situations where we rely on external suppliers to keep the terminals running.

Your key responsibilities will be to add value through:

  • Successfully matching our global category strategies and priorities to local needs and opportunities while maintaining a strong feedback loop to the global teams.
  • Procurement of inventory and non-inventory goods, capital equipment and service following established procurement policies and procedures;
  • Arrange tender procedures, receive bids, coordinate with demand owners to evaluate, assess and select the bidders based on capabilities and written criteria;
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers; evaluate, assess and select vendors based on capabilities, performance and consistent quality assurance; keep accurate vendor report;
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation and assist the manager to plan further demands and order levels with the Requestors
  • Safeguarding the supplier related controls posture and ensure strong cost management though compliance to procurement processes and tools.
  • Automating the ordering of products and services through our digital tools and offshore transactional tasks to our shared services center.
  • Owning and executing the annual procurement plan to connect the terminals to best of breed supplier to optimize cost and enable innovation

We are looking for:

  • You have a strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders (both blue and white collar) in order to achieve your goals.
  • You have a good understanding of strategic procurement and RFx processes, and ideally, also experience in contract implementation.
  • You have a solid understanding of the requisition-to-pay processes and the operational aspects of execution of them.
  • You have a structured working approach and analytical mindset together with a self-driven approach.
  • Experience with LEAN is a plus
  • Strong communication skills; English and Danish both writing and speaking
  • Probably you have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain management, business or similar, and 2-4 years experience from relevant area
  • Positive and curious mindset
