As Senior Category Manager for printed packaging material category, you will be responsible for developing category strategies, driving sourcing activities, and finalizing contracts. You will collaborate with our global external partners and, together with the global Novo Nordisk teams, secure that we deliver on all ambitions related to printed packaging material. The job entails that you: Actively interact with relevant parts of the organisation (our customers), understand the business needs and translate our customer’s strategy and ambitions into solutions taking a wide range of sourcing criteria into account (sustainability, costs, timelines, technology, robustness, risks, responsible sourcing, for example) Develop category strategies, identify trends and dynamics, and ensure that relevant sourcing opportunities and risks are identified and acted upon Ensure that category fundamentals, such as contracting, and supplier collaboration structures and risk assessments are all managed timely and according to internal procedures Thrive with stakeholder management and understands the complexity of working in a large and global organisation In Novo Nordisk printed packaging material as a category entails management of secondary packaging including labels, inserts and cartons. You will be working with suppliers and networks both in and outside Europe, hence you should expect 10 to 20 days of travel activities per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development and will quickly establish you as the go-to person within your area. Qualifications To be considered for this position, we imagine you: Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering or any other relevant field Possess at least 5 years of experience within procurement/strategic sourcing from a large international organization, coupled with a previous experience from working with or in the area of printed packaging material Have a strong commercial drive and are able to drive projects forward leveraging from a broad range of input (commercial, technical, legal, supply-chain, for example) Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills as well as the ability to connect with suppliers, customers and decision-makers across a variety of different environments Are familiar with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and fluent in English, both written and spoken As a person, you have a strategic mind-set and the ability to quickly understand different business models, the supply chain and the industry dynamics. Preferably, you have a keen interest and understanding of packaging material. You can put strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into sourcing related decisions. Additionally, you have experience and interest in supporting and developing other category managers within the area by setting direction and ensuring followship. Lastly, you enjoy working in a multicultural and high-pace environment, bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humor to your work also when under pressure. About the department
Strategic Sourcing is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. We are responsible for securing that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international supplier networks, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world to live with chronical diseases. The printed packaging category team is collaborating closely with production sites in Europe, US, Brazil, China, and the category for printed packaging material plays a fundamental role in driving robust expansion plans. While supporting the global growth we must ensure that we do this in a way that fulfill the needs of an increasingly demanding regulatory environment, as well as needs to create sustainable business models. Joining our team, you will be surrounded by several experienced Category Managers, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
