The position
Novo Nordisk is significantly expanding the use of digital solutions in our entire value chain. To ease this journey more sourcing capacity is needed within our IT sourcing team. As IT Category Manager you will help expand our ability to execute high value and high impact digital sourcing projects.
Your main responsibilities will be to: Drive business development through engaging with users and stakeholders in line of business to develop and quantify ideas for new projects, substitution, or value-adding activities that generate benefits and savings to Novo Nordisk Drive complex sourcing projects – from idea creation, scoping, sourcing and to contract negotiation Support development and implementation of category strategies for IT Infrastructure products and services that align with overall direction and objectives Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that their requirements are being met Build trust – actively work to secure procurement involvement in sourcing activities by adding value and ensuring business needs are understood, prioritised, and met Take a proactive role in the continuous development of the department and the team
You will work together with skilled and top motivated peers in Corporate Procurement, the global Novo Nordisk line of business and in the global IT organisation.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have a degree (M.sc. or BA) in, e.g. economics, law, business administration, IT, Engineering or similar, and preferably 4-10 years of relevant work experience.
We expect you to be confident assuming sourcing responsibility and support complex sourcing projects from initiation to negotiations and be comfortable using data to drive evidence-based decision-making, complete high-quality complex analysis, and draw strong recommendations.
Further qualifications are: Strong sourcing toolbox and understanding of procurement to pay process, and strong execution skills Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making Strategic and innovative mindset and ability to provide hands-on operational support, if needed Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with fluency in English, written and orally Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
On a personal level, you present a “can-do” approach and results-oriented attitude, which enables you to establish strong professional relations internally and externally. You are a team player who enjoys being part of a global work environment and can communicate complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner, while proactively managing numerous and changing priorities effectively. Furthermore, we expect you to work independently as well as in a team environment and be flexible and eager to take up new tasks and projects.
About the department
Corporate Procurement is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy. Corporate Procurement consists of 150 employees based in Denmark and India.
You will work in a team with 41 dedicated colleagues with many different nationalities. We offer a learning environment with a steep learning curve, inhouse sourcing training and great internal development opportunities, as well as offering a flexible working environment where you can both be present in the office and work from home. The department is located in our head quarter building in Bagsværd, which offers an international dynamic atmosphere with cafés and restaurants, along with other facilities such as gym, sports club, Friday bar, and etc. Furthermore, you can commute with any transportation facilities you prefer, as the Bagsværd Station is in 10 mins walking distance. The social committee in our team ensures that we also have fun with our colleagues with team events.
