Siteimprove is seeking an exceptional leader to play a vital role in setting and driving Siteimprove’s strategic product design vision.
As our Director of Product Design, you will lead a growing team of 14 designers to create experiences that meet users’ needs, exceed their expectations and enable us to reach our business goals.
Reporting into the Chief Product Owner, you will help direct the product roadmap, set compelling strategies and vision for the design team, and own the product design process from end-to-end. A member of the Product Management Leadership team.

Siteimprove is seeking an exceptional leader to play a vital role in setting and driving Siteimprove’s strategic product design vision.
As our Director of Product Design, you will lead a growing team of 14 designers to create experiences that meet users’ needs, exceed their expectations and enable us to reach our business goals.
Reporting into the Chief Product Owner, you will help direct the product roadmap, set compelling strategies and vision for the design team, and own the product design process from end-to-end. A member of the Product Management Leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing Product Design team and guide it with the same curiosity and focus you have for understanding customers and building products.
- Champion design excellence together with the Distinguished Product Designer; primary drivers behind how Siteimprove does Product Design.
- Evangelize user-centered design throughout the organization and show how it leads to best in class products and customer experiences.
- Optimize the value and impact of the Product Design team by introducing and implementing DesignOps best practices.
- Striking the right balance of fighting for the customer and understanding the business strategy at hand.
- Set up and operationalize design processes that enable more efficient research, testing and collaboration while also shipping product.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops for designers and help them grow.
- Set expectations, and help promote a fun, highly collaborative team culture.
- Lead the hiring process, including interviewing candidates and setting up processes for onboarding new team members.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across teams and departments.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Sales and Partnerships to ensure consistency between our experiences and our brand expression in other channels.
What We Require of You
- A passion for mentorship and providing constructive feedback to team members; helping team members develop, strengthen and align their ideas with product and customer goals.
- 6+ years of experience managing design teams (UX, UI and/or Digital Product Designers and UX writers), with direct reports under your guidance and leadership.
- 6+ years of hands-on design / UX experience.
- Experience embedding UX / design into Agile methodologies.
- Ability to collaborate with Product and Engineering by sharing designs early and often, seeking constructive feedback and integrating feedback to improve solutions.
- Ability to communicate well in front of large groups, and to break content down in an easy-to-understand way.
- Be up to date with the latest technologies and digital design tools and methods.
- Knowledge about SaaS products and the challenges behind building complex products.
