Opportunity
Operational Procurement is a function within the Maersk Procurement organization supporting Maersk HQ’s, Technology and other Strategic Functions across different location/geographies within Maersk, APMT and Hamburg Sud.
Procurement ensure that every dollar spent is spent professionally. This is achieved by reducing operating expenses and driving a saving mindset by applying procurement capabilities and tools. The function aims to attain a competitive asset base for the future that is fully operational, at cost and on time.
The primary focus of operational procurement is to execute on operational and tactical procurement tasks with high quality, efficiencies, customer focus and drive compliance to policies. The team ensures that Maersk are utilizing relevant agreements, defining scope of work and drive e-auctions where relevant.
The function also works closely with related functions such as Accounts Payable, Finance, Vendor Management to ensure that the P2P processes are as efficient as possible, allowing for automation where possible.
Operational Procurement are delivering different kind of analytics both on performance in process and driving saving potentials with change of behaviors. Therefore, there is significant attention to detail and service levels for stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for a variety of team and strategic tasks, including.
- Delivering and/or being part of continuous improvement initiatives which seek to improve our daily operation without compromising them.
- being focused on a systematic, disciplined approach to managing transactions associated with vendor spend, supporting the long-term objective of the business and functions supported by Operational Procurement.
- Engaging with and supporting our key stakeholders ensuring the procurement agenda is understood and part of how we collectively work.
- Provides support on defined issues and contributes through application of expertise and knowledge. Works independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in specific area.
- Recognizing the importance of operating to a compliance agenda towards our stakeholders and be an ambassador that seeks to drive cost efficiencies, the right tone and behaviors in all aspects of our engagements.
We are looking for
A candidate who is building Knowledge of the application of practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes. Has the ability to establish good knowledge of the functional area and understands the overall nature of the business.
The ideal candidate would have a degree combined with at least 2-4 years of relevant procurement/P2P experience.
Problems require solution through a choice between known alternatives, within the area of expertise and direct manager will evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of the solution and you are able to present results of own work to team, stakeholders and partners, using both visual and analytical skill sets.
You operate within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies, escalating all non-routine problems as required. Routinely applying gained knowledge of theories, methods, techniques and processes.
You must thrive in a fast paced, fast changing and dynamic environment and be a true team player with strong analytical abilities and exceptional communication skills both visual and written.

- Are able to delivery strong results and are solution orientated.
- Are familiar with business cost drivers and supply chain landscapes
- Understand stakeholder management excellence and can build rapport even in challenging situations across a wide variety of roles. Are ambitious, self-driven with entrepreneurial spirit and independent decision-making ability.
