As a Category Analyst, you will join our ambitious Landside Transportation team in Maersk Procurement, with colleagues in Australia, Netherlands, Spain and Denmark.
Maersk's Landside Transportation or Inland business -- including trucking, rail, barge and related services -- is the new engine of Maersk's growth and transformation and is the key driver to help us in our missions to integrate the world's supply chains and decarbonize logistics.
We are working to double the size of this business and you will become a crucial colleague to help us build the foundations that will help us realize our Purpose of “Improving life for all by integrating the world”.
What the role is about:
In this role, you will support the Landside Transportation Procurement Team in Center to drive category strategy frameworks and global initiatives, help set up structures and systems and then share best practices to the 26 Area teams across the world.
Specifically, you will:
- Support Senior Category Managers speed up and scale up the roll out of localized category strategies - this via data gathering and consolidation, analysis (incl. TCOs) and framing the information into actionable storylines
- Drive or support the Landside Procurement Global Projects
- Develop a wiki/documentation archive with our market knowledge, purchasing best practices and success stories
- Hands-on support and coach the Area teams on the above documentation and best practices to guarantee they are implemented
- Coordinate our regular Center-Area check-ins: Communities of Practice, Community Meetings, and more.
- You will represent procurement in cross-functional strategic workstreams and ensure that we are creating a real impact across Maersk.
- In the future, the role can evolve to become a Category Manager or Senior Category Manager responsible for e.g. Rail or Barge or another category within Maersk Procurement.
You are the right person for the job if you have:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a corporate procurement, supply chain or finance role in Maersk or a similar international company
- Strong analytical toolkit including excellence in Excel modeling
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – can build rapport with people on all levels
- A proactive person, who can take ownership, work independently and achieve results - a team player, who understands the importance of stakeholder management
- Eagerness to be best in class and part of a winning team
- Negotiation experience is a plus.
The job is based in Copenhagen and travel to the Areas will be expected as part of the position.
