Our Bedford, Ohio facility is seeking a Procurement Specialist who will support projects and the ongoing operations by leading and executing procurement activities within the Technical and Indirect Spend category. The position has a significant international element, since the candidate must cooperate closely with international suppliers and colleagues located on other Xellia sites, specifically with Global Heads of Technical and for Indirect Spend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and implement the related category strategies
- Provide input to category strategies with inputs from the US territory.
- Participate in investment projects as procurement team member..
- Lead procurement activities from preparation of procurement plan, through tender and negotiations to contract is signed
- Collaborate closely with Global Heads for Technical and for Indirect Spend.
- Understand the procurement spend in the territory in detail with regard to suppliers, opportunities, risks, etc
- Understand the stakeholders’ needs and priorities - This is a highly cross functional role which interacts with stakeholders on all levels in the organization.
- Identify new potential suppliers
- Act as an escalation point for claims or Change Orders
- Execute initiatives which will support the strategy implementation
- Initiate, manage and support local cost saving and efficiency projects
- Use the defined systems and tools (e.g. JD Edwards, Palette, myProcess, Halo, Cirtuo etc.)
- Support preparation of global procurement policies, SOPs, Work instructions and templates as well as implement them in US Territory
- Ensure GxP regulations are followed at all times
- Strong focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Achieve relevant KPIs
- Identify and evaluate new potential suppliers in all areas of responsibility and as per valid procedures
- Manage the approval process of new potential suppliers in all areas of responsibility
- Negotiate and implement contracts with suppliers
- Support resolution of complaints to suppliers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-4 years of experience in procurement, pharma experience is preferred
- Proven experience working in procurement
- Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building
- Able to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary, to include global travel as well
