Blue Ocean Robotics – a Robot Venture Factory in Odense, Denmark – develop and build mobile service robots within health, hotel, construction and agriculture, for example the disinfection robot UVD Robots and the patient moving robot Multi-Tower. Blue Ocean Robotics supply all our venture companies, who are selling the service robots, with high quality products on-time in a volume that is about to scale.
We are looking for a Quality and Compliance Manager with industrial experience for governing quality of design for manufacture and facilitating the process of being compliant to relevant standards and directives.

The Quality part of the position will be responsible for setting up and operating quality assurance throughout the design maturing and procurement process most likely based on APQP. Thus, the Quality Manager will have a strong say on his own role and a strong influence on the impact of the quality management function on the success of the company.
The compliance part of the position will be responsible for setting up and operating our model for compliance in terms of ISO standards, CE certifications, UL/ETL certifications and factory audits.

The Quality and Compliance Manager will report to the Vice President of Production with a dotted line reporting to the Vice President of Product Development. He/she will be accountable for the definition, implementation and execution of quality assurance and control for all critical internal and external fabrication, assembly and testing process steps.
The Quality and Compliance Manager will specify the design teams proper definition of quality and compliance requirements and their criticality, and ensure that product documentation is representing the quality and process capability requirements demanded to ensure a stable and timely execution and compliance with the governing authoritative requirements.
He/she will gradually increase the area of responsibility to include definition, implementation and execution of performance-, robustness- and environmental testing as well as failure mode and root cause analysis expertise.

- Have implemented ISO standards for Quality management systems
- Deep knowledge in CE and UL/ETL certification
- Experience in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Experience in risk assessments
- Experience in audits
- Experience in developing the strategic plan for quality
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and legal demands
- Review quality in the products and the documentation for the robots
Nice to have
- Certification in Six Sigma
- Experience PPAP, Kaizen, LEAN, 8D , A3 or other quality tools
- Knowledge in Statistical Process Control
- Experience in working with FDA, Intertek, UL and TUV

The applicant
- has several years of experience as quality and/or compliance responsible in one or more companies designing and producing mechatronic products.
- Ideally, you have been exposed to quality assurance, quality control and certification challenges and their solutions in relation to a variety of B2B or B2C product types.
- You are knowledged about manufacturing processes in general and their different nature with respect to repeatability, quality monitoring means and behavior.
- You are fact- and data oriented and at the same time you have a profound value chain and life cycle understanding and always bring diagrams showing say the relationship between precision requirements and costs, and you offer recommendations on how to obtain certification and reduce the cost of quality perhaps already at a conceptual stage in the product development.
