Maersk Container Industry (MCI) is on a journey building the future platform for our reefer containers. This was kicked off by the launch of our in-house developed connectivity solution, Sekstant, in 2020 and the programme now include several projects that will all ensure that our reefer platform remains the best in the market. We are looking for an Electronics Procurement Specialist who can support us on this journey with experience and deep understanding of the electronics industry.

As our new Electronics Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in MCI’s journey towards the next generation of reefer machines that include new, modern platforms for the controller application and remote communication. You will work closely with colleagues across MCI within R&D, Production, Procurement and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities
• Develop supply chain strategies and ensure they are included in product development early on
• Overall responsible for negotiating component prices, buying direct components, equipment and services
• Overall responsible for the component suppliers, distributors and EMS contracts
• Responsible for leading the selection and approval of new suppliers together with relevant team members from R&D, Supply Chain and Quality
• Being the main contact for electronics suppliers regarding change requests, including component changes, price negotiations and cost-down activities
• Participate in and contribute to relevant project team meetings throughout the product development & launch process
• Participate in cross-functional workshops, e.g. project planning, structured problems solving and risk evaluation
• Supports the development team with relevant purchase of sample material, equipment etc.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining the prices in the bills of material.
• Establish best practices and guidelines for MCI
We are looking for
To qualify for this position, you need to:
• Have at least 5 years of experience in electronics procurement
• Have a deep understanding of electronics, e.g. through an education in electrical engineering
• Have strong analytically skills
• Be a skilled communicator who are good at maintaining relations with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
• Have a strong sense of responsibility and a customer oriented mindset with good commercial insight
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Be pro-active and result oriented
Our mission is to offer the best product at the lowest cost to our customers and helping them to meet their sustainability goals. We employ around 2,200 employees in both China and Denmark. The production of our MCI container box and our Star Cool refrigeration machine is in China. With our newest product, Sekstant, we can give our customers access to live data in real time so that they can monitor the performance and temperature of their goods during the transport.
