Operations Manager – Solutions Delivery

Cimbria, situated in Thisted, was acquired by AGCO in 2016, and a grand consolidation of the Danish unit into the international conglomerate AGCO has now been kicked off. This transformation brings exciting times in Cimbria. In the middle of this challenging but highly motivating and interesting exercise, Cimbria is looking for an Operations Manager to lead their ‘Solutions Delivery’ department within the ‘Grain & Protein’ division of AGCO. The position is a key role for the execution of commercial delivery projects to Cimbria customers, and you will report straight to the head of Solutions Delivery for the Eastern Europe, Middle East and North African business unit.

Leadership and customer focus
Based in Thisted, you will take over the department of ‘Project Technical and Administrative’, which counts 13-15 highly skilled and experienced employees with high seniority and expertise. Your team members are allocated as key resources to the different customer projects on an individual basis, you will therefore be exposed and engaged in all projects in the project portfolio of Cimbria. Besides the operational responsibility, you will also be responsible for the purchase of external components and sub-assemblies, when specified into the customer projects.

Your primary responsibilities and tasks are:

• Daily management and leadership of the cross-regional operational team in the Project Technical and Administrative department
• Managing technical and purchasing support to secure an efficient project implementation in close cooperation with Project Management, Pre-Sales, Plant Design, and Site Operations
• Management of business processes and administrative tasks in the operational team
• Develop and retain relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the project portfolio
• Development and maintenance of the project toolbox ensuring a constantly updated project model as well as an aligned progress reporting model showing valid data such as time schedule, project logs, revenue facing, and financial project status

Management insight from education and from field
Your educational background could be Marine Engineer, Business Engineer, or a bachelor’s in technology management. A project management education as supplement would be ideal. You have theoretical management insight from your education as well as from the field and minimum 5 years of business experience from another technical and project-oriented company. This could be from the wind or robotic industry. If you have experience within purchase, it would be an advantage.

You face daily challenges in the projects with an open and pragmatic mindset, and you know how to engage your staff in a natural and positive way. You are robust and hardworking, and you enjoy a dynamic and hectic environment. You keep your head cool with a good overview and don’t get lost in details. A generalist is preferred from a specialist.
