We are excited to invite applications for a part-time academic role in our new EU project, NEXUS. This project is pioneering the fabrication and manipulation of quasi-2D oxide membranes. We're looking for a dynamic individual to assist with our film growth and transfer processes.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in operating these processes and supporting our team in the fabrication phase. The Functional Oxide Section – your new team
Taking on the role of an Assistant in our team offers a rare chance to be a part of pioneering technological innovations and advancements. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for professional growth. Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
The working hours are an average of 20 hours per week and can be arranged flexibly in relation to holidays, days off etc. The expected starting date is 1 March 2024, but requests for later starting dates can also be met. The position is for 1 year.
Place of work is the DTU Energy, DTU Lyngby Campus, Building 310.

The position
You will be a key collaborator with our research team, contributing to the development of:
- Innovative Concepts and Techniques : You will be involved in pioneering the growth and manipulation of ultra-thin, freestanding membranes made from complex oxides.
- Microfabrication Processes: You will apply advanced microfabrication techniques to create controlled nanoscale patterns, essential for studying these membranes. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in growth and microfabrication and related techniques. You should have a proactive approach to work and a strong focus on technical details and process improvement.
The tasks
- Assisting in the growth and manipulation of freestanding crystal membranes made from complex oxides
- Assisting in the microfabrication of patterns on these membranes

- Educational background in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, materials science, physics)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
- Ability to follow protocols and standard operating procedures
- You can work independently while maintaining a structured and systematic approach
