Opportunity

My name is James Robinson-Burge, and I am Head of Fleet Solutions at Svitzer. I am looking for a maternity cover (12 months) for our excellent colleague who is going on leave in a few months.

The role as Product Owner is super exciting, where you will be responsible for our Crewing Operations and Scheduling Tool (COAST). We are looking into optimizing and aligning our rostering and planning for our many operations all over the world, and we need a dedicated colleague to join us on that journey.

You will be an important link to the wider organization, you are driven by a keen interest in our business, our processes and not least an understanding.

As part of Fleet Solutions, you will join an agile team, working closely with the technology organisation. We promote a dynamic and fun workplace with an informal communication form and a flexible working environment.

Svitzer has an ambitious strategy, where key to success is a strong focus on operational excellence, utilization of our global ownership advantage and best practice sharing across our global organization.

We offer

This is an opportunity to join an ambitious and international company with a lean and flat head office structure. You have significant independence to impact your role and contribute to the success of the Operations team and our global company.

COAST is Svitzer’s rostering and scheduling tool. It seeks to harmonise local processes and provides visibility and actionability to Port Management teams. COAST’s roadmap involves boosting its decision support capabilities and bringing optimisation technologies into play. A continuous focus on delivering business results is required and brining our front-line users with us on the change journey is key.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and execute the product roadmap for COAST.
  • Support regional management teams in driving the realisation of business results.
  • Apply Agile approach to continuously review business need, refine priorities, outline deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to shepherd users on the change journey, implementing COAST as the way we do business.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and front-line teams to capture requirements and feedback.
  • Translate product requirements into well-defined user stories.
  • Present regular updates on the roadmap and benefit realisation to the COAST steering committee.

Who are we looking for?

You strive to gain a solid understanding of our business operations and processes that the product supports, and you are keen to work with stakeholders across the organization’s hierarchy.

You must be able to promote your product, ‘selling’ the benefits to stakeholders, and bringing your users along with you, sometimes in the face of stern change resistance.

Preferably, you come with experience from a project role working with Agile methodology

Building a Diverse Workplace

In Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job – we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs. We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high performing teams.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that members from some under-represented groups are less likely to apply for jobs if they don’t meet every single qualification. At Svitzer we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles, and we are excited about hearing from you!
