The Global Sr. Business Product Owner has responsibility for managing the assigned product or product category in accordance with the product and charge governance processes and frameworks. Manages and enforces a standardised approach to validations of business opportunities. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve product portfolio and makes step-change improvements which drive product performance metrics, revenue, profitability and product governance.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying the holistic value proposition (along with relevant functions) based on their requirements and Quality compliance and Maersk’s growth strategy, transforming those value propositions into a profitable product.
- The Global Business Product Owner is the ultimate single accountable person for ensuring that the value proposition delivers on clearly defined product objectives.
- Develops and validates business opportunities, new product approvals, product target setting and pricing.
Evaluates and governs products for assigned product category. - Has responsibility for providing expertise for maintenance of Product Catalogue (OIPC updates), and supporting with product governance through OMEB
- Works closely with Regional, Platform, Delivery and other cross-functional partners to ensure all product changes, enhancements and upgrades are communicated clearly and change management is executed
- Actively manages stakeholders at all levels, which influences the product category to achieve improvements.
- Supports with development of value proposition material for targeted customer opportunities to enable business growth
We are looking for:
- Global Product Development and Management experience, ideally for global logistics / transportation products
- Ability to identify customer pain points using qualitative and quantitative data
- Demonstrates a combination of outstanding customer-oriented business acumen with effective technical knowledge, leverages agile method elements in approach and practices
- Well-versed in operational strategy, business product development, go-to-market, and commercialization, and tech-savvy.
- Strong financial acumen, anticipates future product performance delivery and factors it into overall pricing strategy decisions
- Strong communication skills to support new product ideas to senior and executive leadership
- Strong go-to-market experience
- Extreme focus on driving continuous improvements post launch
- Ability to balance short term and long-term business objectives
Qualifications
- 15+ years’ relevant experience in Product Management teams in global Logistics or Technology organizations.
- Experience identifying and hiring world-class talent.
- Expertise in articulating and executing a customer-centric product strategy, for both a B2B and B2C transportation product. (end-to-end Logistics and Supply Chain is a bonus).
- Experience working with and influencing a diverse, global team of product managers, UX and design, content, marketing and ecommerce, in a matrixed environment.
- Must be highly data driven with a track record of developing and owning business models. Able to analyze complex business problems and drive outcomes
- MBA or advanced degree from top tier, globally recognized university
- Experience leading, coaching and developing a team, and working closely with senior cross-functional stakeholders.
