Join us as our new Category Manager for Novonesis Indirect Procurement Europe

About Global Indirect Procurement, Novonesis

In Indirect Procurement, you will join a global organization of highly professional, explorative, and collaborative colleagues. Together, we make a meaningful impact on Novonesis operations, benefiting our company, customers, and the world. Our dedicated and diverse team brings strong expertise in running strategic sourcing projects, negotiating high-profile contracts, and driving organizational change. We believe in the power of learning from one another, regardless of varying levels of experience, to continuously grow and improve as a team.

Your primary location will be in the greater Copenhagen area, specifically Hørsholm, with close interaction with stakeholders at our sites in Lyngby and Bagsværd (Copenhagen).

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Supporting and leading: You will be hands-on in operational tasks, such as following up on contracts and Supplier Performance Management, while also providing valuable input for strategic processes. You will play a key role in shaping and executing the category strategy for the new, consolidated Novonesis, working on small, medium, and large projects with a focus on savings, contract coverage, digitalization, and sustainability alongside the Global Category Leads of Professional Services and IT and key stakeholders across the company. If you see opportunities to improve or innovate, your voice will be heard and valued.

  • Executing with excellence: You will drive activities and projects within the categories and region to ensure continuous procurement excellence, bringing the Category Strategies for the future to life through tangible actions.

  • Negotiating and aligning: You will negotiate contracts with suppliers and collaborate with internal stakeholders on initiatives focused on optimizing Total Cost of Ownership, sustainability, and more.

  • Approaching tasks strategically: You will systematically prioritize tasks, manage expectations, follow up, complete, and reprioritize to thrive in the dynamic and exciting world of procurement.

  • Communicating and engaging: You will effectively communicate the sourcing agenda and engage the organization to ensure the realization of benefits achieved through your project activities.

  • Implementing and anchoring change: You will implement new processes and contracts and conduct relevant change management activities to ensure that your results are firmly rooted in the organization.

  • Reporting and driving improvement: You will report and follow up on the results and performance of your implemented projects to ensure that the benefits are realized. Additionally, you will participate in business review meetings with key suppliers to identify potential future improvement initiatives.


To excel in this role, you should:

  • Hold a relevant master’s degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain, economics, or a related field related to managing professional services or IT services (and/or business or sales experience).

  • Have a fast learner attitude and be ready to embark on many new projects and activities.

  • Work effortlessly in both written and spoken English, in a global organization.

  • Be a team player with a strong drive to achieve excellent results and foster a positive atmosphere with colleagues.

  • Have a keen eagerness to further explore technological opportunities, such as AI and robotics.

  • Be committed to sustainability and eager to contribute to making a positive impact on the world.

  • Have strong interpersonal skills, and experience with stakeholder management across functions and cultures.

  • Enjoy working with quantitative data to generate ideas, develop business cases, and validate opportunities.

  • Display structured, self-motivated behavior and the willingness to take the lead.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely, and be unafraid to facilitate meetings, make recommendations, and present to senior management.


On a personal level, you should be a team player who thrives in diverse, international professional groups and has a keen eye for detail, along with an interest in process improvement and simplification. Additionally, we expect you to be curious and solution-oriented, with an explorative and solution-focused mindset.

We provide a comprehensive benefits package and a harmonious work-life balance within a well-established and sociable team. Our work model is hybrid, and limited travel activity is expected. In this role, you will report to the Manager of Indirect Procurement EMA.
