technical product manager

On behalf of our customer Mørenot Denmark, Randstad is looking for a Technical Product Manager, who will hold responsibility for both research and development and continuous commercial success of Mørenot Denmark’s highly specialized custom-made aquaculture products for fish farming customers worldwide.

In this role, you will become part of an international company with Danish headquarters in Aalborg and you will get the opportunity to influence and form Mørenot Denmark’s continuous growth. You will hold technical and commercial responsibility for the category called ‘Cages’, that is one of the main components in the total supply for fish pens: rings, nets, moorings and more, for turnkey projects to be delivered in both the Northern Atlantic, Far East, and on a large number of European locations.

You will get the opportunity to both co-operate commercially on a large scale with suppliers and colleagues, and to dive into a detailed world of manufacturing polymer components complying with the strict requirements of solutions to be operative in the demanding environments of the sea. A technically minded tradesperson with a taste for innovation.

About the position

In this role, you will be reporting directly to Mørenot Denmark’s MD and be key within executing the company’s mission of delivering “Solutions to sustainably harvest food from the sea”. You will act as the Danish specialist and go-to person in the field and you will co-operate closely with all stakeholders, from customers to colleagues and sub suppliers.

Your work areas will cover:

- Overall responsibility for the technical success of the Cages category
- Responsibility of fulfillment of all component functionalities and integrity

- Responsibility for sub supplier contact in Denmark and abroad
- Contributing to the Senior Project manager in relation to on site installations
- Aftersales services including spare parts, repair parts and documentation

Your role will be a mix of technical responsibility and R&D. You will manage both the standard portfolio of products as well as contributing yourself to innovating and executing new customized solutions. You will ensure that deliveries and quality always comply with customer and group KPIs and that the product range is always in correspondence with current and upcoming regulations and standards from official authorities.

Your primary work tasks will be to:

- Establish strength calculations and optimizations of key components
- Participate in development, design and strength calculations of accessories
- Contribute to finding optimized interfaces with other main components
- Design and decide on specifications of cages as part of turnkey supply
- Contribute to overall development of new cage sizes and solutions
- Assure quality in component production
- Ensure certifications and approvals of products in cooperation with group QA
- Identify improvements of existing components and spare parts
- Update manuals and market material

In this role, you will have 25-35 travel days per year, mainly in Denmark, Norway and the US.

Your profile

You hold an engineer’s degree and have more than 5 years’ experience from manufacturing environments, preferably within customized solutions.

You have extensive knowhow of polymer molding and hands on experience with doing technical calculations and developing new innovative solutions. You will also have thorough understanding of combining components of different nature into one solution to be used in a dynamic working environment on the sea.

You have an eye for design and an experimentation mindset, yet you are data-driven and never compromising the high level of quality and safety of the products that you are engaged in.

You have a process oriented, people minded mindset, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are fluent in English and you enjoy documenting activities. You are customer-centric and hold the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders even if the situation becomes hectic.

You have a high level of integrity and reliability, and know how to balance this with a high level of ambition and performance orientation.
