We are looking for a Designer & Product Developer to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the full development lifecycle of our footwear, bags, wear accessories, and small accessories collections.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented professional with strong design, technical, and communication skills. You should have a keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability while ensuring the development process runs efficiently.
As a Designer & Product Developer, you will be responsible for transforming creative concepts into high-quality, market-ready products. Working closely with our Creative Director, Head of Design, buyers and suppliers, you will oversee the product development process from initial sketches to final samples, ensuring each piece aligns with our brand identity and quality standards.

About the Role
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and solution-oriented professional with strong design, technical, and communication skills. You should have a keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability while ensuring the development process runs efficiently.
As a Designer & Product Developer, you will be responsible for transforming creative concepts into high-quality, market-ready products. Working closely with our Creative Director, Head of Design, buyers and suppliers, you will oversee the product development process from initial sketches to final samples, ensuring each piece aligns with our brand identity and quality standards.
You have:
- An ability to innovate while staying true to the product range
- Exceptional taste, combined with a commercially oriented mindset and a detailed understanding of color, materials, and category dynamics.
- A strong sense of accountability, ensuring all aspects of your work meet ’s high standards
- A natural ability to think across the entire product lifecycle—from design and materials to packaging, in-store presentation, master data, and product copy.
- A strong ability to structure processes, prioritize effectively, and manage complex workflows across multiple projects.
- The ability to analyze performance metrics, applying insights to guide product development and strengthen the overall category offering.
- A commitment to sustainability, prioritizing responsible materials and practices in all design stages.
- A strong understanding of pricing and production costs, ensuring that materials and details do not drive prices beyond what is realistic for children's products. It’s essential that you can balance quality and design within a competitive price range.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Translate creative concepts into detailed technical sketches and tech packs, including precise measurements, materials and trims.
- Oversee the complete product development cycle, ensuring designs are functional, high-quality, aligned with brand standards and meeting customer needs and market trends.
- Continuously monitor and update product development phases in PLM Yunique, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for all stakeholders.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to develop samples that meet design specifications, quality requirements, and production timelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with factories and suppliers, ensuring smooth collaboration.
- Source sustainable materials and components whenever possible.
- Communicate effectively to resolve development challenges and ensure timely production.
- Occasionally travel to follow up on product development and production.
- Conduct fit and wear tests to ensure comfort, durability, and quality in footwear and accessories.
- Monitor production quality, ensuring products meet brand standards both pre- and post-launch.
- Work closely with merchandising, buying, marketing, and sales teams to align product offerings with customer needs and market trends.
Does this sound like you? You have:
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
- Strong experience creating detailed technical drawings and tech packs.
- Knowledge of footwear and accessories production processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- A proactive, solution-driven approach to troubleshooting development challenges.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Danish proficiency is a plus).
- Strong negotiation skills for working with suppliers and factories.
- An ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously across different collections.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility in line with the brand’s identity.
Qualifications:
- Relevant design education.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in footwear or accessories design and development—preferably within a lifestyle or children’s brand.
- Strong interest in sustainable and eco-friendly design principles.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Powerpoint and Excel.
- Experience with PLM systems (Yunique or similar).
You will be working from the head office in Copenhagen and report to the Head of Design.
