Find out more at topsoe.com.About ustopsoe.comWho we’re looking forWho we’re looking forWe are looking for a Category Manager for our Global Raw Materials Procurement Department, which is globally responsible for securing the raw materials for our existing productions in Denmark and USA as well as our upcoming productions related to our carbon emission reduction technologies. We are part of Global Procurement within Topsoe.Most of our raw materials are chemicals and metal-based compounds which are sourced globally. The total spend for raw materials and consumables in 2023 was 3.7 billion DKK, and proper management of raw material suppliers has a significant impact on our results.We have a high focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing. Decarbonization is becoming a mandatory requirement in supplier selection. Our aim is that suppliers covering 74% of Scope 3 emissions will have science-based GHG reduction targets by 2027, and our target is to reach net zero emissions across our value chain by 2040. We also work with suppliers to increase the amount of recycled materials in our raw materials.You will join a team of highly skilled colleagues working out of our headquarters in Lyngby.Your responsibilitiesYour responsibilitiesDrive category planning, - management and sourcing strategies Responsibility for supplier segmentation and global supply base within own categories Drive and negotiate strategic and partnership agreements within own categories Identify and drive category management projects Identify and implement new raw material sources in cooperation with key stakeholders Develop a network of key category stakeholders for effective implementation of sourcing initiatives supporting business plans and R&D development Own the relationship with key suppliers and develop them into strategic suppliers or partners Negotiate prices terms and conditions to achieve given targets Develop suppliers towards supporting our targets for sustainable procurement Develop detailed knowledge about key raw material markets, conduct demand, market and supplier analyses Handle supply chain risks - identify and minimize risks resulting from supply interruptions and price fluctuations. The ideal candidate has a solid experience with global sourcing of chemicals and commodities. Experience with category management in a similar sector is an advantage.What you’ll bringMaster’s degree (e.g. Cand. Merc. or Chemical Engineering) or Bachelor’s degree (e.g. HD in Logistics / Supply Chain Management), or similar theoretical level or experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience from an international Procurement organization and can document results from similar positions. Technical understanding of chemicals In-depth knowledge of procurement and global sourcing Excellent commercial/financial understanding Solid knowledge of supplier markets for commodities and chemicals. Master’s degree (e.g. Cand.
