Harboes Brewery is looking for a new colleague to the RD team. It is a maternity cover for 12 months.
Harboes Brewery A/S is a Danish company with a strong international platform. The company dates back to 1883 and the operations are still running by the family. We offer a wide range of malt-based ingredients, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, distributed to global markets via our network of importers and agents.
Today, we are a key international beer and beverage manufacturer with production facilities in 2 countries, which exports to more than 90 countries worldwide.
R&D collaborates with a lot of people both internally and externally. The work in R&D is a mixture of different projects in close cooperation with customers, suppliers, universities, and internal departments. More specifically, the majority of the tasks consist of:
The position is situated in the headquarters of Harboes Brewery in Skælskør, Denmark, approximately 100 km from Copenhagen.
Persistent and creative
Candidate must have experience with product development within the field of food ingredients, preferably with knowledge in:
The ideal candidate should hold a MSc degree within Dairy Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or Food Science and Technology. Alternatively, a strong technical experience will also be considered. It is important to be able speak and write English. Danish skills would be advantageous but is not required.
We are looking for a person who is open, curious, and creative, yet systematic with high awareness to details. A good communicator, who thrives in the interaction with different stakeholders across the organisation and outside, at the same time rests calmly in working independently. A person who takes responsibility seriously, who is action oriented with strong internal values.

- Development work as trials and analysis, including optimization of processes
- Pilot/full-scale experiments in production
- Collection and preparation of material for presentations
- Project coordination (internal/external)
- Finding potential suppliers for raw materials and equipment
- Quality assessment of all new products and processes
- Documentation of project data electronically
The position is situated in the headquarters of Harboes Brewery in Skælskør, Denmark, approximately 100 km from Copenhagen.
Persistent and creative
Candidate must have experience with product development within the field of food ingredients, preferably with knowledge in:
- Biochemistry and unit operations within brewery, fermentation and downstream processing (filtration, separation and concentration, etc)
- Powder technology
- Analytical methods, especially HPLC
The ideal candidate should hold a MSc degree within Dairy Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or Food Science and Technology. Alternatively, a strong technical experience will also be considered. It is important to be able speak and write English. Danish skills would be advantageous but is not required.
