Data Product Owner, Finance

European Energy is a green company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. You will be part of Group Budgeting and Internal Reporting which is a small team of currently three fulltime employees and one Student Assistant – but with expectations of expanding in near future. We are responsible for our financial data warehouse, collecting and using financial data to deliver financial insight and high-quality reports, as well as internal budgeting, aiming to link our financially guided measures to the market (EBITDA and profit) directly to the performance of our core business.
The team is based in our office in Søborg, Copenhagen, which will also be your workplace. It is not possible to work fully remote.
We are looking for a new colleague because our current Data Product Owner has gotten the opportunity to make an internal transfer to a different team in European Energy to develop her skills and competencies further. She will therefore be available for onboarding and introduction to the systems and to answer any possible questions you might have.
As our new Data Product Owner, you will have the full responsibility of our finance data warehouse including master data, data governance, and Power BI. In addition, you will be participating in the EE Data Community. You will work closely with the Finance community and front-end customers throughout EE, as well as offer support to management.
You do not consider problems and challenges to be a roadblock for moving forward – rather you are motivated by findings solutions and getting things done.
It is important that you have a solid understanding of the business and how the data is linked to the business to support the end-users and their needs. You are an experienced user of MS Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Business Central, and Data Management, and you have extensive knowledge of SQL.

How you will create an impact

A typical day
- You maintain and build the architecture of Finance master data.
- You ensure and monitors data quality and data governance.
- You work closely with IT to support the processes in Finance.
- You secure alignment between IT, Finance, and business end-users.
- You train and develop the organization to use the master data according to governance.
- You coordinate and develop content for the financial data model.
- You design financial measures and reports based on user requirements.
- You analyse data quality and communicate results to data owners.
- You act as key contact person to external data engineers.

It is important that you have a solid understanding of the business and how the data is linked to the business to support the end-users and their needs. You are an experienced user of MS Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Business Central, and Data Management, and you have extensive knowledge of SQL.
The ideal candidate can moreover identify with the following:
- You have a business qualification within IT or Finance.
- You have experience with management of a finance department’s data structure, data community, and/or data governance.
- You have experience working with reporting and BI.
- You feel comfortable working with DAX, M-Power Query, SQL Server Integration, SQL Server Analysis Service, and SQL Server.
- You are solution-oriented, and it motivates you to solve challenges.
- You have an analytical mindset and are used to offering analytical support to the business.
- You are fully proficient in English.
