About the job

Oceaneering is a subcontractor to a large operator in the oil and gas industry – operating from Esbjerg, Denmark – and your job will be to provide Risk, Reliability and Maintenance (RRM) Engineering advice and support in accordance with governing documents, quality and norms. This includes to device the relevant criteria, logic, methodology and tools for maintenance engineering. You will have the ability to participate in establishment and revisions of regional governing standards.

You will help develop maintenance routines, philosophies and strategies for onshore and offshore installations and manage activities in client Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

The roles are for a fixed term period starting August 2020 until May 2021. The term can possibly be prolonged.

Potential duties & responsibilities



  • Direct and supervise reliability program activities designed to achieve the goals of the plant reliability program.
  • Provide technical assistance to the maintenance and operations departments on equipment and reliability issues and technologies.
  • Define and develop maintenance strategies, philosophies and policies and link them to company strategies.
  • Recommend innovative solutions to increase equipment and facility life and to reduce maintenance costs through the analysis of repetitive equipment failures and breakdowns
  • Perform advanced audits on risk, reliability & maintenance programs and evaluate their effectiveness regarding if equipment life has been extended to reduce maintenance requirements and or repair costs.
  • Perform audits of the maintenance programs on industrial assets and provide insights on the level of compliancy.
  • Perform Root Cause Problem Elimination for equipment failures.
  • Evaluate, define, and development of specific maintenance concepts, programs, and strategies for onshore and offshore oil and gas installations, wind farms, chemical plants, manufacturing factories
  • Ensure effective input and management of data within CMMS database
  • Undertake spare part evaluations and CMMS optimizations
  • Manage the preparation of data for input into reviews/and (or) client presentations and meetings
  • Ensure effective operation of CMMS as required and maintain client data
  • Manage systematic and advanced re-evaluations of maintenance programs based on operational feedback
  • Liaise with Client Technical Authorities and provide high level advice to deliver optimized maintenance requirements
  • Manage project specific technical data from client library/documentation
  • Provide support for staff learning and development, competency reviews, and coaching within discipline
  • Act as experienced subject matter expert when required
  • Support technically on advanced marketing material such as white papers and conference presentations
  • Assist the Line Manager to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables and overall management of the service
  • Support the Line Manager in management of Oceaneering contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management
  • Prepare and undertake advanced workshop meetings

  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

The ideal candidates will fulfill most or several of the following list:

  • Degree in engineering related discipline, Asset Management, Mechatronics, Construction, Mechanical, Electrical or Process preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of specific experience related to the job description, specifically maintenance engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of work directly related to maintenance analysis and management.
  • Delivered several large developmental projects in maintenance management and analysis with good results.
  • Proven ability to evaluate equipment reliability, including establishing KPIs for the analysis of maintenance data.
  • Extensive knowledge and competency of maintenance management principles, logic and parameters for operational use of productions systems, assets and components.
  • Knowledge of the NORSOK Z-008 standard and has worked with criticality, consequence classification and reliability analysis for a minimum of 4 years.
  • Extensive knowledge of the closed feedback loop within maintenance management.
  • Must be well familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures and several different CMMS Systems
  • Adapt at visualization and simplification of maintenance analysis data.
  • Proficient in the use of engineering drawings and manuals, in general and specifically related to maintenance analysis.
  • Fluently in English and preferably in one of the Scandinavian languages. Desirable with fluent capabilities in a language used in a major oil-producing region.
  • Planning and resource management of complex multi personnel projects and commitments.

  • Intermediate to high level of social perception, cognition and awareness.
  • Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to generate a team approach to workflow execution and problem solving.
  • Great client and contractor relationship skills at various levels of seniority or diverse cultures.
  • Good communicator in written, verbal and technical to make complex terminology simple for the benefit of others.
  • Provide leadership, advanced co-ordination or guidance to others, especially regarding maintenance engineering.
