About the Role
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of components and parts from our suppliers. You'll collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to uphold stringent quality standards, driving continuous improvement and reducing costs while delivering superior value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Supplier Engagement: Ensure suppliers understand and meet our high-quality standards and requirements. Conduct thorough evaluations, approvals, and ongoing quality checks for new and existing suppliers and products.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work together with development, technical, and purchasing teams to ensure supplier alignment with product requirements.
- Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Act as the go-to expert for supplier processes, addressing any deviations, and leading initiatives to optimize supplier quality levels and reduce costs.
- Global Influence & Travel: Join a global team with approximately 10-20 travel days per year, actively engaging with suppliers in the EU to promote and implement quality improvements.
- Internal: Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams and drive process optimization efforts that contribute to the company’s success.
Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Educated in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or related field). Additional certifications in Six Sigma are advantageous.
- Relevant Experience: Proven experience in supplier quality management, with hands-on experience in machinery for manufacturing, mechanical, and hydraulic components. Basic knowledge of electrical components is a plus.
- Quality Standards Knowledge: Familiar with ISO 9001 and ISO 16949 standards, and PPAP and audit processes.
- Communication & Collaboration: Positive attitude, strong communication, and excellent interpersonal skills to build cooperative relationships with external partners and internal teams.
- Analytical Skills & Problem Solving: A structured and calm approach, even under pressure. Able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and proficiently use IT for reporting (MS Office Suite).
