Programme Manager, Group Project Management Office

Would you like to take the role of Programme Manager in the Group Project Management Office (PMO) and lead mission-critical initiatives to strengthen our organisation´s foundation?

Our new Group PMO oversees, prioritizes, and manages the largest and most complex programmes and projects across the business and takes a leading role in shaping and implementing our strategy, redesigning, and mobilizing our future operating model, as well as ensuring fit-for-growth and efficient scaling are center to a company that has grown more than 2x in a year on its RE production, achieving close to 2,000GWH in 2023. 

We want you to play a pivotal role in accelerating a future leader in the green transition, help set the direction of the company, and drive execution and delivery on European Energy’s highest-priority objectives to continue our rapid growth journey.

The team

The Group Strategy team is an international and engaged group of 30 people with diverse backgrounds ranging from top-tier consultancies to environmental management and ESG. We are divided into three core pillars: Strategy, Sustainability, and Project Management Office.

Overall, our team is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic agenda, leading M&A processes, setting our ambitious direction for sustainability, and building, implementing, and maintaining a best-in-class future operating model. Our team reports directly to the company CEO, and you will be reporting to the Head of Group Project Management Office.

How you will create impact

We offer an opportunity to take on a senior leadership role in the renewables sector with great responsibility and a tangible impact on the global challenges of climate change. You will specifically take on responsibilities such as:

  • Reshape European Energy as a professional corporate by defining, implementing and maintaining a best-in-class future operating model, including broad business process mapping

  • Manage and support Project Managers throughout the organisation to deliver on strategic initiatives and workstreams as part of our new strategy

  • Shape, build and drive an organizational-wide project excellence framework to mature and deliver backbone projects centrally

  • Define, lead and execute large-scale strategic projects and programmes, with the ability to adapt to hybrid project models

  • Keep track of overall company performance and progression on strategic initiatives, communicate to top management and define necessary actions to course-correct if needed

What we look for

We seek an experienced, team-oriented individual with strong analytical and leadership capabilities, as you will be working in a high-paced and multidisciplinary environment. You find it motivating to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and you would like to drive change and tackle some of the biggest issues of our time in a changing energy industry.

The ideal candidate will have a background that includes some of the following elements:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar

  • A large appetite to take on or continue team leadership indirectly for colleagues in the business via programme leadership as well for directly for an own Programme Management team over time

  • Several years of continuous project, programme and process management experience with large, complex and global corporate projects, transformations or post-merger integrations – preferably bridging business with IT and at a senior level

  • Experience in performance management, monitoring, and reporting to senior management

  • A strong and empathetic team player attitude with great people skills and capabilities within change management
